Sometimes all you can do is avoid them. Take my mom, for instance: I got Caller ID.

Well this is an interesting topic- seems like some just like to point out the negative all the time. I try to respond to them with a positive attitude. Unless it's somebody that is just a repeatedly negative person, sometimes they just piss me off and I will just let them have it. Seems like negativity and dishonesty often go hand in hand with some that I have dealt with. I think there must be something miserable in their lives that makes them be like that. Too each his/her own, but sometimes I would figure it is more work to spread all of there negativity than it would for them to just be happy and positive in the first place. The world is what you make it. You choose your actions, so some make their own bed and have to lay in it!

I am right there with ya LKristine. negative people are unhappy, unliked, and unsatisfied. Everything has consequences good and bad. When ya choose to do or say something be prepared for the consequence that ya bring on by actions you took. Now I can understnd someone being negative when they get screwed over and over by things they had no control over but to take that negativity and pass it along to another innocent one is no better then the before. If ya got time to be negative which relates to hurtful, ill mannered , ya have time to better yourself and be more positive. Think of what a great history you could have by changing your path, is what I say.Negative people will blame everyone but themselves.

hmmm if someone become nagative sometime i better feel to keep quite because I feel when you think negative you think and speak all rubbish and foolish, so i feel better to listen him/her at that time without any argue or anger and after sometime when he become relexed and come in her senses than you polietly and lovingly you can told her that what she talks and think is wrong and negative approach.. listen her too and dont say NO on everything just be relexed and calm and polite...Its difficult I know but I think it works..
But some personalities have always a negative approach to everything , they are hard to bear, because with them after sometime you feel yourself sick of everything... than I try to avoid these people....

I tolerate it less as I get older and I think I have learned to speak my mind in a respectful way. I try to just avoid people who are negative. When I am with my neighbor... I mean negative people. I just try to put a positive spin on everything! Then when I can't take it anymore, I leave!!! I jut think life is to short to be negative.

I cut out negative people. I didn't speak to my mom for 3 years because I'd dealt with her negativity for my whole life. The last straw was her talking negatively to my then 5 year old daughter about my dad. I didn't want my daughter to have that cycle that I did. On a positive, she has changed and I have recently started associating with her again. I struggle to not get caught in negative cycles at times, but find that doing something nice for someone else kills the negativity because it comes from an unconditional loving place. Also, I have learned through time that if you put up a shield and are not a receptacle for that negativity to go, it dies out, and the positivity that you radiate will prevail. Silence is golden, you don't need to feed the cycle or to receive the negativity, listening sometimes can help others negativity to fizzle out, just don't take on their stuff, it is theirs and they can keep it or deal with it when they are ready.
