In Honor Of Cinco De Mayo

A friend of mine here in Blogsville Donna the color specialist  posted some yummy colors and asked what drink are you?  Well Ironically today I was adding a  the same color splash to my guest bathroom. I am a blue lagoon drink YUM!~  If you have been following me for a while you know I love Spanish Old World decor.  Here are some beautiful colors I thought I would share and show you what I did in my tiny guest bathroom. What exactly is CInco De mayoCinco De Mayo, The 5th Of May, commemorates the victory of the Mexican militia over the French army at The Battle Of Puebla in 1862. It is primarily a regional holiday celebrated in the Mexican state capital city of Puebla and throughout the state of Puebla, with some limited recognition in other parts of Mexico, and especially in U.S. cities with a significant Mexican population. It is not, as many people think, Mexico's Independence Day, which is actually September 16. So add a little color to a room and to your life, you will be glad you did!!~
I have had this tie back for years and have never used it.  Today I found the perfect home for it.
Don't you just love these colors?

Yep, even added a plate in the bathroom...too bad I am not on RMS I may get rated a one for that decor move!
LOL!

I Have had this hand painted Spanish pot for years, thought I would add it to the bathroom today...it has been tucked in a corner by my front door. Now I can actually enjoy it.

Happy Cinco De Mayo everyone! Thanks for stopping in and leaving your comments, I always appeciate it so much! You guys and gals ROCK! P.S.  I normally do not take pictures with the flash on, however, in this bathroom it is very difficult to photograph, plus I wanted you to see the true colors! Hope to inspire some with the use of color.  I will be linking up to some parties to share.  Thanks to all the lovely hosts to make this possible!

Tis me again! Thank you for letting me know about ads popping up when you tried to post. I'm thinking of getting rid of the google ads, I had problems with them putting some naughty ads up when I posted about Vegas. I was initially hoping to make a little money off ads when I first started blogging since I'm not working but I'm thinking $7 over 3 months time probably isn't worth it!

Oh I love that blue! I have a shade almost idential to that in every bedroom in the house, but each accented differently. One room has a nice soft white accents, one has chocolate and the third is our main bathroom that was a claw-foot bathtube and white wainscotting with beige tile. It looks awesome!!! Loving the blue!

Love, love, love all those beautiful colors and objects!!!! I could so be a blue lagoon drink! Those colors are yummy and I am using touches of that blue in my living room! I even bought a blue lamp like that, but Tom gave me "the look"!!! He said he felt like I should be wearing pearls and greet him at the door with his slippers and pipe! It is funky and 70's, but I am digging it! I will probably take it back though. It just doesn't flow with the rest of the room really, but I did get a bit crazy for a few minutes!

I'm really impressed that you know the history of Cinco De Mayo, not many people know it. I didn't learn about it until I was in college in my twenties!!oh the shame, I know! by the way, love the color combo, can't wait to make a card or scrapbook page using those two colors. Love the picture underneath the blue plate on the wall, did you get that at Placita Olvera? I made a version of that with a paper bag and acrylic paints. Happy Cinco to you too!
