Both feet on the ground, Garage salen party #6 Linky up!

First I want to  thank each and every one of  you so much for the overwhelming response on the blogging etiquette post.  I am certain it not only helped me, it also has helped others.

Let me tell you about the latest happenings around here and then we can move on...I had a major mess up AGAIN this week.  It was bound to happen with my spray paint can, let me explain.
I was doing a project in the garage and I had left the project and the can of RED spray paint on the floor,  Well that night Mike came home and pulled into the garage (he had my truck, because his car was in for repairs...again because of ME!)  as you know I screwed up last week on that as well ) well Mike ran over the can of spray paint.  OMG! is really all I can say, our garage looked like Friday the 13thhttp://darrenjcosta.files.wordpress.com/2009/11/friday-the-13th-jason-mask.jpg
massacre. This is nothing....... I had already starting cleaning it up, and then he kicked me out fast, and said he would take care of it.  After hours of paint thinner and pressure washing it is pretty well gone now.
BAD I tell ya.
The bottom line is, I am doing too much, too fast, not thinking and making bad choices that result in accidents.
After receiving the email from my blogging friend, the light bulb went off and it then prompted me to post the topic.  I have come up with a simple solution.  STOP posting so much! Some have asked what are my intentions, ie....do I want a business....NO...Maybe, perhaps...do I want advertisers....NO, but Kinda sorta...
what do I want?  I want  to share all my creative energy, my family, my life and my stories along the way.  The problem with me, is that I want to do it all, too much, too fast. I am a NOW, live in the moment, for the moment kinda gal.   I can't help myself sometimes, I get so excited making others smile and find joy in just about everything I do, and I want to share that enthusiasm with the World.  I have a lot to share, as my life is so not boring, and so fulfilled, I like to bring that to you all.
THAT's it!!~Whatever else comes my way I will embrace. Now If I get discovered in the meantime.....that would be greatttttttttttttttttttttttttt!!~ (just kidding)  With all this being said, I love to visit each and every blog I do...this blogging world is NOT all about me (darn it, would make it so much easier). You all have so much to share with me as well, and I have learned through you too....life stories, your creative spark, what makes you happy.  I love to learn about you.
My blog will never be in the top 10,( should be, dirty rascals, what are they thinking, fools) my blog will never be recognized in any magazine,(so magazine worthy, it is ridiculous they are not pounding on my door) and I certainly never had those expectations. I have simply been over functioning at a time when I can't!http://brainboosterplus.com/images/exhausted.gif   I do love feedback etc...my posts are not all about decorating, I sometimes need insight on parenting, I want to hear everything I can about your experiences about parenting and learn in the process...we can all learn things from each other.  To me blogging and connections are all about having a support group for each other. I love Blogging and Blabbing, sounds pretty catchy huh...more on that later! (light bulb moment)http://kenoath.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/bulb.jpg I have to also admit I loved the traffic flow my blog was receiving, it was so much joy to see all the people on my page.....and how does that happen...you post often and people come over.  But I have to admit I was getting annoyed myself at seeing myself if that makes sense!
....today is a new day indeed!.
So I have fessed up to my shortcomings, admitted my alter egohttp://farm4.static.flickr.com/3062/2975202083_16710a035b.jpg was driven, and I  thank you all very much!  But back to some normalcy for me:) I would like to note, my family was never affected in any way shape or form, they are not painted red or blue or the color purple  http://blog.bluemos.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/img_0298.jpgand they still love me and are well taken care of.  Now my home, well it can be a  little cleaner like it used to be...and that is what I will go back to...I love to clean!

NOW let's get this party started, nuff said about this topic!
So this week I will feature my $3.00 Goodwill shoes.Sam and Libby and clearly never worn! CUTE, CUTE, CUTE they are...........
Enjoy, as many participants as you see fit, and have fun.  Don't forget to link back to Debbiedoos, either with my logo, or link is fine.  Let's try to stick to thrift items this week, antiques, flea markets, garage sales, etc.....Oh and my parties must go on, and always will, this day is my favorite day of the week!~ This week I will not have any features but promise to start back to that next week. Can I also mention one pet peeve I have?  Comment word verification!!!!!!!!! We do not need it, you can moderate your comments before you post them....word verification is a big ole pain in the BUTTTTTTTTTT! Takes time, I type the wrong stupid letters almost every time...thanks for listening...perhaps you can turn it off....I am not alone here peeps trust me on this!
Hope you all understand the little step back I am taking.....really it is just a little:)
PMS...I mean P.S. I am not going anywhere gals, I am just not going to post 3,000 times a week....perhaps just 2,000 times a week will suffice for now!
My Garage salen party starts Every Friday and runs til Monday night....hope you join you sometime!

Oh Debbiedoos!!! You are great just as you are and never put yourself down! You have done the right thing by realizing you are doing too much. Make up those posts all you want but just save them for a time when you are busy with family! At least that way you are getting it out of your system!!!

You have a wonderful husband and it sounds like he adores you! How great that he cleaned it up!

Stop, smell the roses and start again! Today is the first day of the rest of your life!!!

Don't you wish that was gray primer, instead of red paint? ;o) That would have made your week much easier. Glad you've kind of "settled in" about this blogging stuff. My lack of or interest in blogging often depends upon the time of year and how busy I am at the time. It's a fun past-time, but certainly not "important" in the real sense of the word!

You're the best! Wow...now we know what happens when you run over a can of spray paint! This so could have happened here! As I am usually multi-tasking and forgetting! Keeps life interesting :)

You and I are so much alike. I just want to keep sharing too and lord do I know how draining it is and how my house is not as clean as it was. I have also learned since I have gotten older that it doesn't have to be sparkly clean everyday. I was a fanatic about it and my mom told me when I got older it would not be as important to me as it was when I was younger. I still like it pretty clean though. My mom, sister and kids have said you could eat off my floor. It really was not ever that clean. Anyway I love doing this and the feed back plus it feels good to know that I have inspired others to try new things. I have been receiving some nice emails and that just makes my day. I am not in it for monetary gain even though I probably should if I am going to be doing it all the time, but that is not why I started. Love your cute new bargain shoes!! I will link up soon.

Look at those smokin hot feet! I mean shoes! You better hope you don't get some creepy person that has a foot fetish looking at your feet! lol!

Sorry about the spray paint! I haven't gotten to read all the replies yet on your other post. Do what makes you feel good! I still love ya!

Oh! I'm totally joking about your feet and I promise I don't have a foot fetish!;)

I howled with laughter at the red paint incident...only you could have that happen:) And you are so precious, your over achieving tendencies are just part of who you are. Your blog grew really quickly and it probably wasn't expected on your part, but because of the goodness of your heart you wanted to please every single follower...you can't, it's just not possible.

But anywho, you have a very loyal follower in me and always will, I suspect I'm not alone in feeling that way:):):) I'm so busy tomorrow but my friend and I are going garage sale-ing on Saturday so I will link up late Sat. or early Sunday:)

Have a wonderful weekend Debbie!!!

I have only been following you for a short time but I can sense your energy throughout every post!! I don't think that posting often is a problem...some people do it everyday. I have learned that people aren't always interested in everything I have to say, even though it is BIG to me!! You can tell by the shortness of the comment!! lol!

If people like you and follow you, do what you want~it's your blog. And I am enjoying it! ;-D

Sorry about the red paint and LOVE the shoes!

Haha Deb! Shoes- so cute! AND I noticed your toe ring! So cool. Indian women wear it once they get married. Have I told you that before? Somehow. I don't know why. It rings a bell.

Too much blogging. Too much forgetfulness!

I took a BIG truckload of inspiration from your post yesterday. I was listening to myself vent as I typed to you and thought, "What? Blogging is meant to be fun. Let it stay fun and stop becoming an obligatory exercise ritual!"

I told myself firmly, "Your friends will always love you, even when you come back after a gap sometimes. They'd rather have you read your stuff now than stay their boring, unemployed, forever exam-giving friend for life!!"

So, I am telling you. It did WONDERS for me.

Big hug to my therapist!

I am sorry about the spray paint, but think about this- it saved a lot of lives. Our lives!

You just crack me up. I'm running out right now to see where I left that can of paint. Icks. Out in the beastie sun, I'm sure. Oh, Debbie Do. I sure wish I'd found my can of worms at a garage sale. I would love to link in, but I just don't thimk my posting qualifies this week. Unless, it's about our craziness, giggles and the way our minds work.

Ok, so maybe I'll stick it in there and you can remove if you feel it's not OK.

Toodles,
kate

P.S. I'm not going to say Spray On to you today. You've done enough damage for a while... giggle, giggle...

You have always amazed me with the amount of posts you do. You are definitely a high energy person and I am so glad you are here to share, but don't stress yourself out! I am definitely a laid back blogger. I post once a week if that. My goal is to post a journal for us. I do it when I can or when I am inspired!

You don't worry about us. We will ALWAYS be here for you!

If those shoes turn up missing... it wasn't me!!! :-)

Thank you, Debbie! You have no idea how much better and 'normal' I feel right now. I've been feeling guilty for not posting and commenting as much as during the winter. But I am so much busier, have a full time job and several trainings going on or planned right now; that I just don't have as much time or I'd rather be outside working, walking, enjoying the 'sunshine' I missed during this past LONG winter. Then I would see ALL you are doing and feel like such a bad blogger and worst, a bad blogging friend.
You are still Super MOM, Wife, Friend and Super Women (esp. for sharing this post with us :-)
Love ya girl & thank you again!

And I love your blog but I totally understand. Do what you can, when you can. I, and I am sure everyone else, will be here whenever you post.

As far as word verification goes....it sucks totally. I turned mine off within weeks after I started blogging. If some schmuck leaves some spam or some other annoying comment, I just click and delete. No biggie!

You are just the sweetest blogger, I love your energy, your honesty and sense of humor. You crack me up and make me smile. I've missed you this week and am just catching up on your posts. It seems like I've read a lot of blogs lately that have the same type of post pertaining to taking a slight break from blogging. I know since I started my blog, my house is not quite as clean as it used to be. I don't even blog that often, but I love looking at other blogs and that takes a lot of time.

I think that it's your blog, your life, and your place to do as you please. Posts as often or as little as you see fit. Blog to please yourself and not everyone else.

Your red paint story reminds me of a small fiasco I created when I was a kid. Too long to tell here, but it involved me, red paint, and someone else's garage floor. 40 years later, the red stain is STILL visible.

I so agree with you!! All I want out of blogging is someone to share what I love whether it is shopping, crafting and remodeling! I LOVE seeing what others are doing to their homes and their crafts. I have cut back a bit on my posts for the summer because of a lot going on. In the winter, i posted more but it can be very time consuming and time is something I do not have a lot of.
I am limiting myself to 3 posts a week and trying to link up to all of my favorite parties with those posts.
Love your shoes and you know that I love your blog and seeing all that you do!

Hi Debbie,
I can totally relate to what you're describing. When I first started blogging, I was so excited to have found this great creative outlet that I posted several times a week. Now it's usually only once (if that). I don't visit folks and leave comments as often as I'd like either, but when I was I was doing that ... well, I was neglecting other aspects of my life.

I think you're making a healthy decision to take a little step back. Your readers will keep coming back and they'll be delighted when you do take time to post.

Have a wonderful weekend --- rest a little, OK? ;)

Doing my series on the house this week, I've posted nearly every day...after the last segment tomorrow I am taking a break, too! For me twice a week is ideal, otherwise I find I am just too busy! Blogging should be fun for us, and so should the rest of our lives! Go enjoy yourself! XO PS I LOVE the shoes...

Hi Debbie - you have such a following on your blog and yet I know you are not someone who goes out looking for followers of the follow me and I'll follow you kind, which means people follow you because they love your blog.

Sorry about your garage - but knowing you that red paint will be the start of some creative garage makeover :-)

I agree, gray paint would have been perfect! I have several cans of paint right where we park, and a few months ago 1 tipped over and I drove right through it as I backed out. Down the driveway, down the street. That was fun explaining to the neighbors.... some of the paint is still there. :) Cute, cute, shoes!

Hold up, did that paint get on the car? Holy smokes!

I take a step back from blogging during the summer too. We just can't do it all, so you and I will be back in full force in September :)

I can't believe that this happened to you again:( Did the paint get all over your car? Yikes!

I always have wondered how you post so much. Now I know that other things were being put on hold while you were blogging. I haven't posted that much in the last few weeks and my traffic is way down. I want readers and commenters but I can't always be getting a blog post together or visiting blogs all day long. You have a lot of followers and I wondered how you got so many so fast. I know that we both are newer to blogging than others so I was wondering that.

Some bloggers blog and don't do other things. They do project after project but then you find out that their house is a mess or that they don't have any other hobbies.

I had to step back from some of it. I started blogging to stay in touch with my family since we were moving and also to make some new friends. I love the connections that you make blogging but I don't want my life to pass me by because I am on the computer all day long.

We will still read even if you post one time a week or two times a week or more. Have a great weekend.

How wonderful that your husband cleaned the garage! He deserves kudos for that.

Please, please don't be hard on yourself. Your kids are young only once and real life is so much more important than blogging. Don't take time from your husband & kids, ever! I'm older so just offering this information as time goes so quickly with kids. :-)

We will all still be here! Be good to them and yourself ~ that is #1.

Have a blessed weekend ~

I thought you might have had to paint the whole garage red, Debbie! Glad your hubby was able to get it all out.

I agree it's hard to blog everyday and keep up with comments when you get as many as you do, so cutting back on frequency is a good idea. I blog about 3-4 times a week and I've enjoyed blogging even more without all the stress.

Your shoes are adorable!

Love your shoes!

I guess I should be thankful that my garage is too crammed with stuff for us ever to park in it! I tend to leave cans everywhere also.

Do you happen to remember where you got the metal rack that is on your side bar? The one that looks to be on your porch. I am looking for one like that for outside by the pool. I used to see them all the time, now that I want one they are no where to be found!

Way to go, Debbie! You took the words right out of my mouth! I too love sharing my life with others and I also let the housework go. Hey, if they don't come knocking wanting to film another episode of Hoarders, then my house is clean, right? Thank you for the comment about word verification,I hate that with a passion!!! I also screwed up with the hubby's vehicle one time. Normally no one parks in the driveway behind me. So this one night, my granddaughter was supposed to be spending the night but decided she wanted to go home. Justin was already asleep, so I got in my car and backed up, not even looking in the rearview mirror. Bam! where did that truck come from?? Luckily all I damaged was his license tag on the fron of his truck !! Whew! Love your linky partay!

I always wondered how you and Kim and all the mega bloggers out there do it. Glad you will be taking some time to yourself. I mainly read emails morning and night and go through my blog roll on dashboard. AND YES I HATE WORD VERIFICATION. Took mine off right away and never looked back.

Debbie you are so cute and funny! We all love you sweet lady. Your blog is inspiring and you are a true sweetheart. *Smiles*

It's not how often you post that makes a good blog. Sometimes I wonder if others that post so often are doing it to increase blog traffic. It seems like overkill to me to post every little change to our homes. I say pick and choose the most interesting things and go from there. A nice blogger friend shows their true colors in the long run believe me. You don't have to post every day. We should all understand everyone has a life to lead.

I'm so sorry about the red paint and the car too. Ugh! Here's hoping that no more accidents happen at your place.

Have a wonderful Sunday. ~Melissa ;)

Thanks for sharing the paint fiasco. It will help me know to be careful...not that I've even painted anything yet. haha.

So sorry about the paint mess! Did it get on the car? Are there ever any dull moments at your house?? :)

Don't worry about posting. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't have a lot of time to post or read blogs every day, so I can't catch but a few here and there anyway.

Love the shoes. They are so cute!
I love to thrift shop. You never know what treasures you may find.

Have a great week. :)

OK, sisters in paint crime here. I dropped a can of bright red spray paint and it landed on the nozzle...and ummm.... well...

I'm glad you are keeping the joy in your writing and blogging. It is to make you happy and to share you with us...not to be a burden!

Did you remember to exhale after you made this decision!?!

Happy Sunday Debbie!

As much as I got a chuckle out of the paint can incident I know exactly how things like that happen. I was like you about 6 months ago.. pressuring myself to post daily. I realized that its about quality, not quantity. If I can only post once a week, then thats ok! I have a family, a full time job and a house to run. That all comes first. Relax... your projects are worth coming to see, no matter how long they take! Sometimes I wonder how some bloggers do it. Who really wants to be chained to the laptop that much anyway? Enjoy knowing that your projects are worth waiting for!

Hi Debbie, Thank you for visiting and leaving your well wishes on my upcoming move. I recently picked up a few very large hurricanes and turned them upside down and added a glass piece to the top and made it into a cute cloche. You probably have some hurricanes that you could use, can't wait to see what you come up with and I hope I can join in. I miss blogging; I have major withdrawl...yikes, addicted!
I hope you have a great week, Debbie!

I know how you feel. I go a million miles a minute, do too much at once, try to take on too many projects: Then chaos and accidents ensure. It's so hard to do it all. So very hard...

Today is Summer Solstice Day. I'm going to leave work early and relax at the beach. You should do the same :)

Then go back to manic projects!
