Family room

Another rainy dreary day here in the Carolinas...much needed though so I am really not complaining too much.
I have finished most of my indoor Halloween/Fall decorating and thought I would share some changes. Nothing remarkable, just fun. The boys love it, and get a kick out of some of the things I do around here.
I have to warn you now, I took lots of pics. I have been playing around with my camera settings, so the pictures are set to a more warm setting via candle light.
I will start with the Fireplace Mantel....nothing major, I added the moss, as I seen that done in the pottery barn catalog and thought it is such an easy touch.
Looks a little Gothic and spooky right? Well to me it does!
Now onto the the coffee table....
Little mice running around here.
Spiders and skeleton bones too!
Ok these three rats are a hoot, I bought them from Pottery Barn. I had a 25.00 gift certificate, of course I had to spend 50.00 to use it, however that was easy to do....

Just playing with my camera trying to get some cool shots.
I placed this cloth on Lucy's dog bed, she is staying clear of it...although she rarely sits or lays on it anyhow, she is a lap dog every chance she gets.
Joining the Mantel party over at the Nester
My Garage salen/thrift party link will be up tomorrow FRIDAY! Hope to see you then.

Great pictures, Debbie!!
I really like the candles in the pumpkin, but I think I'd have to leave out the spiders. I'd be jumping every time I walked by.

You are buying so much stuff from big retailers! Show the American crafters some love. Shop at etsy. You can even search for crafters in your immediate locality that would probably love to have some extra sales in time for the holidays.

Your home looks lovely, as always. . . but also very spooky now! I know your boys must get a real kick out of all the Halloween decor.

Know what's funny? My boys are now 19, 17, and 13--they're all bigger than I am--and I still call them "the boys." I guess I'll still call them that when they're all adults. Once a boys' mama, always a boys' mama!

That is a perfectly spooky mantel...I love it! Awesome job!

I see that candle pumpkin thingy on your coffee table. From Walmart right? I couldn't decided whether to buy it but now that I see it lit, I have to go get one. See the trouble you started? lol

Hi Debbie, Your house looks so "WICKEDLY" spooky. I bet the boys go crazy over your decorating. I can't seem to bring myself to decorate for fall yet. I think because I'm still in the decorating mode of the new house I'm not able to transition just yet, I'm still in a beachy mode, lol. Love seeing what you are doing though!

Oh this is soooo magazine worthy! I think you did a fantastic job. The moss on the FP with your candleabra reminds me of an "old" spooky house! LOL! Then you added the rats and that totally hit the mark! You did a wonderful job with the new photos you were trying out too. They really set the ambiance! Mysterious & spooky!
