It's starting to get hairy around here!

HA! I really know how to grab your attention now don't I? You thought you were going to come over and there was going to be something really juicy and good.
THIS post is about my hair growing process. Back in January when I first started blogging. I felt the need for a hair change.  When I met my husband I had long hair. Then slowly I started going shorter and shorter.  Mike always liked it short. Well Being in my mid 40's I suppose I want to look just a wee bit younger, and for some reason longer hair can make you feel that way.  Come along the hair journey won't you??
Last summer...short and spikey!
Oh and have I mentioned I have undergone many hair color changes. This was also last summer, with the red look. I have been a blonde...but I can't find any pictures on my computer to show you.
Now moving onto January/February when I first declared I am growing out my hair.
I liked this, could have lived with it for awhile, but this certainly is not long.

APRIL, not happy having to wear headbands now, really trying hard.
Hated my hair this day. Funny you can remember hating your hair on a day, but can't remember what you ate yesterday.

It's starting to grow now....
Today's current state. I really thought it would be longer by now. I do still get it cut every 5-6 weeks to keep it healthy. I feel like I have the 80's look now though. I did LOVE the 80's! So tell me your thoughts...do you like it shorter, medium, this length, keep it going...I will not get my feelings hurt either way:)
P.S. Yes this is blowed out and curled just a tad. I have very thin hair.

I wish I had the guts to change my hair more. You have great hair and can really wear different styles well. I love your hair in the 2nd to the last shot. The last shot is great too, just looks like your curled it or is it naturally wavy? Do you style it straight too at the length it is at now? I also love the color!

I like it longer. I think short hair requires more frequent hair cuts. I recently grew my hair longer and like it better. I also wash my hair less frequently and it looks healthier now...who knew? You look fab dahling by the way. hugs♥olive

I think you should keep growing it, if you don't like it then you can always cut it! And don't rule out hair extensions, it's a great way to get long hair fast:)

I had short hair in the mid 80's, I can't say that I really miss that decade tho. Altho I do have a lot of 80's video's saved in my youtube favorites:)

Anywho, either way I agree with the others that you're gorgeous regardless of hair length:)

You look sooooo very pretty!!!! I cut my hair really really short too, remember? Bad hair days- ouch, remind me of something else! I'm getting my hair to grow too! I've always loved waist length, but never went beyond shoulder length ever. Let's see how far this goes this time. I could sure use some inspiration for style from you because we do have the same length right now!

I love the versatility you have with the medium length. You really are good with your hair...mine is curly and looks the same way every day unless I straighten it. The bangs look great with your beautiful eyes!

Your hair looks great. I have had a love hate relationship with my hair. As I get older, I feel I am losing it and that it is getting thinner. Next week, I am going to a new stylist - I have been with the same person for over 25 years!

I'm really trying to decide how I like your hair. Spiky was cute but that's not my favorite. I love the last picture here but also like it when the sides were about chin length...and I'm supposing back was a little shorter. Both these flatter your face and really look great on you. I would say which would feels best to you and which one doesn't take forever to fix! I also have very fine hair. Shorter tends to do better on me. I'm working on a new style right now too...still short but a little different. My hair has gone through M-A-N-Y changes through the years....none of which I've really been wild about! Really....you look great in all the pics!

Debbie,
Honestly, I think you look beautiful in with all those different hairstyles. You have a face that looks great either short or long. I started growing my hair last year and really like it long now. I reminds me of my youthful days when I could pull my hair back in a ponytail.

You could pull off any hair cut! It's looking really cute now and I think it does make you look younger ('tis true!). It's fun to change it up. As soon as I grow out my hair, I see cute shorter cuts that I want and vice versa! Luckily my hair grows pretty fast.

Well, Adorable on all counts... but if we are voting, I like #3 & #6 ... & what you are wearing now is also great. When I saw it I thought, "Oh Farah is back" I was a hairdresser in the 80's (still am : ) & we did a LOT of that cut... I still like it though, it softens around your face. Shoot, you can always cut again, when you get sick of it.

Debbie with your personality and looks, you can pull off any hairstyle. I am rather partial to long hair and have had it most of my life. I also like the versatility I have with longer hair - up, down, curled, straightened, etc. The only time I have short hair is after a donation to Locks of Love. I am overdue for a donation because I still want some length when I get it cut this time. I especially like your hair in photos 3, 6 and 7.

I liked the spunk of the short hair, but I do agree, the longer length is softer.Funny, I really like your hair on your "bad hair day". Looed very feminine. Also the second last pic looked very chique. Like the darker color, too.
And thats my two cents.
You are fortunate to be beautiful, so not one style is bad... ;)

Hi Debbie,

I say longer. You can always snip it later on down the line. I have had every color under the rainbow and shortest to the longest. I personaly think most women over 35 including myself look more girlish in a shoulder length cut. Right now my hair is past my shoulders and I just feel like it drags my face down. I'm 38. I shall be going for a look similar to yours soon and will be looking into some headbands as I think yours are super pretty and feminine!

I loved seeing your hairy journey Debbie. You are beautiful!

Two of my three daughters are in their 40's and my youngest turned 39, this year. They still wear their hair long. I have had short hair since jr high school. I never had the patience to let it grow. Although I've thought about it in my elder years. I've always wanted to have it pulled back in a knot or pony tail...I love that look with silver hair.

Your kitchen do and your car do are very simialr, and I love that look on you. However, I think that you can have the same look with the cut you have now(cause you even said that it was styled differently that day), so the styling to highlight your eyes is wonderful, but I do love how you have it fixed in the last one as well. I liked your hair short, but since I am totally honest, the longer hair makes you look quite a bit younger and it is a softer look. I think you can do it all, but keep in mind what your goal is with your hair(mine is to make me look less fat, the stylist laughs kindly every time, but she is good:))

Hi Debbie, No matter what the hairstyle you are just beautiful, inside and out! I loved the picture of you that was on the top of your blog when I first met you. Your hair was short and in a headband, it was sassy, funky and oh so cute. That is my favorite picture of you. I have let my hair grow out from my short flippy, razor cut to plain straight hair to my shoulders this past year. It's kinda boring but so easy to get up and go with, if you know what I mean. Since I plan on being on the go at our new house and being on the beach and in boat I'd like to leave it alone for now. But that could change in a minute, I'm known for taking scissors into my own hands (no, I'm not a hair stylist)and cutting it myself on a whim. I do it all the time, was very tempted last week to give myself a trim but I resisted and left it alone. We girls are crazy when it comes to hair and makeup! So no matter what you decide, I will love it cuz you are just as cute as can be!
Hugz,
Kim

Last December 2009, I had my hair cut into a bob. It was cute, but it just was not me. I have been growing my hair out since then and now it's past my shoulders. I am not going to cut it. At this point I am going to see how long it will grow. When I was younger it was down to the middle of my back. If it will grow that long again, I will let it. I can always pile it up on my head or wear it in a ponytail. Stick with it, yours will grow too!
