Oh my achy breaky back!
Yesterday my
chalk paint finally arrived. This stuff is blowing off the shelves I tell you. It's wonderful that is why!
I would have started painting the second it came in, however, I had BUNCO last night and just could not do it.
BTW I won! First time ever....
Anyhow..I started first thing this morning.

During, I was a little concerned about this color covering. I will say the duck eggs blue seemed to have better coverage, but in the end this worked out, and I really love the color. I used cream which is a very pale yellow. |
|
Sneak peak at the curtains..I bought these at World Market, they are pretty much the same ones I loved at Pottery barn, but the cost was 50.00 cheaper a panel, I bought these for 39.99 a panel, 96 inch. |

This hour glass my husband bought for me while we were dating. |
I heavily distressed this piece after it was dried and waxed. I want our room to have that Paris/French shabby feel, It's getting there, more to come. I did my dresser too today, but you can't see that part just yet.
Thanks for popping over, and as always your sweet kind comments.
I appreciate your visits, I really do!

Wow! this is sooo.. beautiful! The curtains are gorgeous !
Hope to see you on my blog:)
Woooow Debbie, that dresser looks amazing!!! I love the color! I really want to try the chalk paint but it's so expensive and I've only found it online. Where do you get yours?
Debbie, love that color. Are you waxing it, too?
Debbie- I LOVE that fabric for the curtains! Beautiful!!! And, I really like the way your little dresser looks. I have read pros and cons witht he chalk paint-some love it-some hate it. Is yours waxed, or are you waxing it? I like the fact that it doesn't get all dried out and skimover if yu don't get the top on it riht away...but I have not used it myself. Great job~ xxoo Diana
Thank you for sharing about the chalk paint. It's great hearing from those that have tried it and are willing to share how it worked out. The dresser looks good...love the color.
Linda
I love the vignette on the dresser--such a romantic ambiance. That hour glass is to die for! I'd keep that man around for a long, long time. :)
Very pretty! I really want to order some chalk paint... just haven't decided on the color yet. How many colors have you tried?

Your room does have a Paris look now :) I see everybody is playing Chalk Paint and having lot of fun, let's see if i can get one from the hardware shop today to have some fun over the weekend! Thanks for inspiring me!
Oooo, it looks sooo nice already. I can't wait to see the room all done: I hate waiting! :S What a difference the paint makes. I want to do EVERYTHING in my bedroom: it's all unmatching wood and sooooo outdated!! I love dreaming about it as I watch you get yours done! :)
Oh, and I love that hour glass your husband gave you...so sweet!! My husband gave me a whale mug and a metalic rainbow type sea picture: it was HIDEOUS!! (Please, don't tell him I said that!) I told him I loved ocean stuff, so that's what he got...but it was so thoughtful...and he's gotten much better. Looks like your husband had nice taste from the start! :)
Oh my!! truly beautiful.. What a fab job you've done!! I love those curtains.. :-)

So do you have to order the Chalk paint? Or can you find it sold somewhere?
That really looked so different after. Great job.
Congrats on winning BUNCO!! I love how nicely your room is coming along. I love how the dresser turned out, looks so shabby chic!
Oh it looks beautiful! (I really need to try this paint.) Love your curtains too...both the colors & pattern. Can I add that your wedding photo is stunning as well?
Very nice! I love the pattern of your curtain panels and what a great price for 96 inches! Have a great weekend.
*LOVE* the chest of drawers! I also love the curtain fabric. I can't wait to see the big reveal of your room :D
Woo hoo! Another chalk paint project. You did a great job! Looks wonderful!
That color is just yummy Deb! Hey, I want to see your wedding pic up close!! Love the hourglass!!!
To get more info on the chalk paint Debbie uses, please see www.anniesloan.com, and then go to www.usajoliedesign.com and find the "stockist" nearest you to order. There are 24 yummy colors and each quart stretches 140-150 sq feet. So you see it really is not expensive once you consider that! AND you can mix colors, making even more AND best part is....you don't sand, or strip or prime...you go right over what you already have. As Annie herself says, "we are busy women. We have families to raise, jobs to attend to, and we don't have time to wait for paint to dry". So now we can paint and have it done the same day, back in the room and do Bunco that night!!
Awwww beautiful curtains.Great post mu friend.Keep up with the good work.Plz do pass by my blog on freeing your mind, follow and comment to improve my works too.
Thanks.
Great buy on the curtains! And terrific job on the dresser.
1 really dumb question: Why the Chalk Paint? Is that not for chalk boards? Doesn't look like the dresser is for kids to write on.
Jane
Atticmag...I tried to leave a comment on your blog and also respond to your emai...difficult on both accounts, anyhow, it is not CHALKBOARD paint it is chalk paint and is all the rage now, if you read Miss Mustard seeds blog you will see how she started using it, and it has been a trickle down from there in blog land. The website is linked in my post. Thanks for stopping by, and thank you everyone else too!
XO
Dresser is looking great. Can't wait to see the whole shabang!
i love the color cant wait to see it all:)
Gawgeous, Debbie Dear! I love that color on your piece! I spy with my tiny eye a little wedding couple! ;)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Be.A.u.ti.ful!!! It will be great to see everything when you are all done.
Blessings & Aloha!
Hi Debbie! I just went through and caught up on your last few posts. I missed your video, so I just finished watching it. Oh my gosh! it's fantastic!!! I love the out takes and your comment about blogger's butt!
You are soooo cute!!!!
Your bedroom looks wonderful.
My daughter hung a very simple, wire word over her bed...she formed it to say "forever".The wire is the guage of a wire hanger. She added just a few beads here and there to spice it up a bit.
It doesn't take away from the headboard, but adds a touch of romance and whimsy.
Whatever you decide...I'm sure it will look terrific.
Enjoy your weekend.
Hugs,
Debbie
Sister, there is so much I want to say to you...First, I love this piece. You are doing such a phenomenal job of redoing furniture, I think it may have been your calling all along. Second, if I haven't said thank you recently for being such a nice and generous person, then I am a fool, and apologize. Thank you for being you, I love you!
