What are featherheads?

What is a featherhead you ask?

I had no clue until yesterday when I went in for a haircut, and my cute hairdresser, 20 years my junior mind you, had them in her hair.
I loved them, and tend to think I am cool and trendy sometimes, (cough, barf, gag)and felt I had to have a few myself.
Much to Jack's horror, as he was with me.
I think the boy was  terrified to see what his Mom was going to look like.
He was afraid of this...

Which, hey, may work for some, but  a little much for an old Mom.
So I decided to get only a few.
They last for several months, and you can treat them like your own hair, curl them, straighten, wash, hairspray, they tolerate everything but hair color.

I loved these colors, however, there was such a variety.  I may get JUST one more....
(Ok there is Mike with half a smile...the guy hates pictures what can I say?)

I went a little conservative because I was not sure what my hubs would think.
 HE loved it!
When I mentioned getting one more, he said WHY not? Go for it, it's fun!
Poor guy, he has been through so many hair colors, cuts, and changes with me....he just knows nothing to do with my hair is permanent...OH and I had perms too!
So have you seen anyone with them yet?
For more info, and a really cute video

LOVE it! My DIL is a feather-head too, or at least she was at their going away party in June before they moved to Collierville TN. Hers were blue and violet and looked stunning with her dark ash blonde hair.

Very cute Debbie! My daughter wears those. I think she started with bright pink ones, but has toned them down a little bit. she has clip in ones because of her job, but I can't tell they aren't permanent.

LOVE the feathers. I never (okay - rarely) get out to the hairdresser - too much fuss and bother with babysitters. How pathetic IS that? I do make time to get my toes done from time to time though :)

I want to be a featherhead! Totally 2 cute!!! Bet my hairdresser doesn't do that kind of stuff....she's our cousin & does it @ her house! I like trendy stuff like that. I'll be on the look out for folks around here with 'em! Down South, we are usually behind everyone else in the trendy stuff. I really want a tattoo but I am from a very conservative family and so is my husband's fam.....not sure how well that would go over! Just a "tasteful", meaningful, small one would be OK.....right??? Thanks for sharing!

How are they attached? Do you have to brush extra carefully with them in? Does daily shampooing cut their life in your hair short?

Cute, Debbie! You probably do not remember Elaine Joyce. She used to be on Password and Match Game, which this old gal grew up with. Anyway, she used to wear feathers in her hair once in awhile, waaaaaay back in the 70's. When she had her baby Allen Ludden from Password asked the baby's name and she said Taylor Joyce Van. I thought if I ever have a girl I will name her Taylor, and I did! Yay!

They look adorable in your hair! I've read that since they've become so popular with stylists, anglers get really upset, because the feathers they use to make flies are being bought out by stylists. I agree with Mike, Go For It! Thanks for sharing.
