I had no clue until yesterday when I went in for a haircut, and my cute hairdresser, 20 years my junior mind you, had them in her hair.
I loved them, and tend to think I am cool and trendy sometimes, (cough, barf, gag)and felt I had to have a few myself.
Much to Jack's horror, as he was with me.
I think the boy was terrified to see what his Mom was going to look like.
He was afraid of this...
Which, hey, may work for some, but a little much for an old Mom.
|
So I decided to get only a few.
They last for several months, and you can treat them like your own hair, curl them, straighten, wash, hairspray, they tolerate everything but hair color. |
|
I loved these colors, however, there was such a variety. I may get JUST one more.... |
(Ok there is Mike with half a smile...the guy hates pictures what can I say?)
I went a little conservative because I was not sure what my hubs would think.
HE loved it!
When I mentioned getting one more, he said WHY not? Go for it, it's fun!
Poor guy, he has been through so many hair colors, cuts, and changes with me....he just knows nothing to do with my hair is permanent...OH and I had perms too!
So have you seen anyone with them yet?
For more info, and a really cute video

LOVE it! My DIL is a feather-head too, or at least she was at their going away party in June before they moved to Collierville TN. Hers were blue and violet and looked stunning with her dark ash blonde hair.
A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E! Adorable! Adorable!
I have recently heard of them. This old chick is not getting them, but they are cute on you. Tell Mike to smile!
Very cute on you!!!
I work with high school girls... & EVERYONE has them...
Kim, you know Mike never smiles in pics!
Aren't they so fun?!?!? My 5 year old daughter and I had hot pink ones!
A ton of people in my area have them.
They are very popular around here! I think yours is awesome ~ go for another one ~ you only live once!

Oh yes, so popular! I understand the fly fishing community is not too happy as it is making their costs go up and up!! LOL Lookin' good!!
hey thats cute,, don't think itwould go with my grey hair,, I don't dye my hair,, (55) just to smelly for me,, bad allergies,, hey maybe I could get grey ones,,you are so pretty, great smile!!!
Very cute Debbie! My daughter wears those. I think she started with bright pink ones, but has toned them down a little bit. she has clip in ones because of her job, but I can't tell they aren't permanent.
They look great! You're haircut is so cute!
I am going to show these to my niece, she has a beauty shop and i am sure she would love them. Thanks for sharing, Richard at My Old Historic House
I so want one of these or maybe a few. I guess, I'm going to have to leave the house and venture to the beauty shop soon. Absolutely too cute.
You look so cute!!! My neighbor just had one put in and I loved it :)

LOVE the feathers. I never (okay - rarely) get out to the hairdresser - too much fuss and bother with babysitters. How pathetic IS that? I do make time to get my toes done from time to time though :)
What FUN, Debbie ... you wear them well! I say go for more. :) They're quite popular here in Myrtle, too! xo
I 100 percent totally love it!
That looks very cute Debbie. Your husband is so handsome no need to smile LOL.
I had never heard of them before. They look very cute in your hair!
I agree with Mike...go for it!
Looks like so much fun, this old chick might try it!

Luvs it sissy, I want some!
A friend of mine had one and I instantly fell in love with the feather look! I liken myself to being a bit quirky for my age (54), and decided that age or not, I was going to sport a feather too...and I do!!! Love your feathers!!!
You are trendy and cool!! I have seen them on movie stars....I guess your officially a star. OK, so here is what I am thinking...Your husband has no teeth, yep, never seen um. He is going to have to photograph with a big toothy grin to prove me wrong!

They are a bit tribal and funky. I think they look great on you. And why not get more?
They are darling on you and yes we are seeing them on some of the "kids" here- although "older kids"...and I think they are just fun! Tell the old boy to lighten up a bit~ xo Diana ps...better a feather HEAD than a feather BRAIN..xo Diana
You look adorable! I love them. Several of my 4th/5th graders had them at the end of the school year. You're just so hip!
These look great in your hair,
and of course, compliment your
gorgeous face.
:)

My nieces were rocking them at the beach for the 4th! I think they are super cool and I love yours! They look so good! The girls have so much hair that i really blended in, but i love how yours is in the front and you can see it! You rock!
Oh that looks so cute!
Really cute. They are all over Oklahoma you go girl.
I like the feathers!!!
I've seen them but didn't know that they had an official name. They look very cute on you!
Marianne :)
I either must be old or live in the backwoods (probably both!) because I have never seen those before. They are so cute! You wear them well, and look adorable!
So cute Debbie! They are HOT here! My daughter is a hair stylist and they are quite the thing!
I want to be a featherhead! Totally 2 cute!!! Bet my hairdresser doesn't do that kind of stuff....she's our cousin & does it @ her house! I like trendy stuff like that. I'll be on the look out for folks around here with 'em! Down South, we are usually behind everyone else in the trendy stuff. I really want a tattoo but I am from a very conservative family and so is my husband's fam.....not sure how well that would go over! Just a "tasteful", meaningful, small one would be OK.....right??? Thanks for sharing!
It's cool and chic. Goes well with you. Lovely to have something trendy with hair that's not too extravaganza.
Me likey. Me want.
How are they attached? Do you have to brush extra carefully with them in? Does daily shampooing cut their life in your hair short?
Cute, Debbie! You probably do not remember Elaine Joyce. She used to be on Password and Match Game, which this old gal grew up with. Anyway, she used to wear feathers in her hair once in awhile, waaaaaay back in the 70's. When she had her baby Allen Ludden from Password asked the baby's name and she said Taylor Joyce Van. I thought if I ever have a girl I will name her Taylor, and I did! Yay!
Love it Debbie! They are all the rave at our Salon, too!
Love your featherhead Debbie. I am seeing more and more people with them in our area as well.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Gail
Look who's all trendy! I love that Jack was worried about you getting them. They look cute. I say go for one more. Three is the magic number.
I saw them on Good morning America and thought they were cute! You look GREAT! And I LOVE them! Very tempting...I must say! I'm old enough to be your mother..is that too old? lol ♥
I haven't seen these before, Debbie, but I love them. I'm a bit 'mature' to try it, but, you definitely rock the look!
OMG they are so cute on you. I love it!
Dee
i love the feathers reminds me of the 70sflower power
You look great. My SIL is 46 and has a few and she looks cute. No worries as they are fun and such a cute idea.
well i say your never to old to have fun :)
How FUN! I must be so behind the times...cause I've seen them before. They look cute on you though..not sure I could pull it off!
They look adorable in your hair! I've read that since they've become so popular with stylists, anglers get really upset, because the feathers they use to make flies are being bought out by stylists. I agree with Mike, Go For It! Thanks for sharing.
Cute Debbie! You are rockin' them!! :)
I was getting my hair cut the other day and over head someone behind me talking about feathers. This must have been it! I couldn't see anything and now I wish I had. Looks cute on you.
Looks so cute. Go for another one or two! I would if I were you!!
Very cute! Hm...If I was "with it", "hip, etc...
Love that your hubby is on board with as you say "many hair colors, cuts, and changes". You two are a good looking couple too!
Blessings & Aloha!
(I'm stopping by to say hi before the start of another work week!)
