Calgon "take me away"

"Calgon take me away" is right!
Why in the world does someone, MEANING me of course, decide to start a project when my son is having a party here tonight!

We have twenty teenagers coming, and I get it it my head to start painting.
Let's just say I am stubborn, and when I get it in my head, there is no getting it out.
Are there meds for that? I have to check with my husband.
He just kindly said to me...
"Deb don't you have enough on your plate" Yeah, what's your point"?
Did I listen? NO....................................
Am I the only one like this?

Of course I have ironing to do in between all this chaos.

Then I decide it would be quick to paint this iron table, with a million grooves in it, NOT!~ Then I did not care for the color, and had to start over. The color is nice, just too light.

Then I decided those three black nesting tables, needed a makeover, something my husband told me long ago, NEVER to paint. Did I listen...NOPE!
those did not turn out well either.

Sure hoping at the end of the night, everyone is doing this!~
I have since made good on my projects, and my achy breaky back is killing me.

20 teenagers in my house tonight, did i mention anxiety?
We do not have a basement, and we pretty much are giving them free reign of the house.
Music, food, a little twister..
we removed the coffee table and rug. We have a disco ball, and last night Mike and I tested out the scene.
We are thinking it would be fun for us, hope it is fun for them.
and did I mention there will be cute girls?
ought to be fun!!~
See you tomorrow night for the newbie party.

Oh Debbie, you are braver than me, 20 teenagers in the house! I couldn't tolerate the thought of just having 3-4 pre-teens!

Have fun though, since you're a heart of the party!

You know, I do the same thing....decide I should shampoo the carpet an hour before guests arrive, then blast the furnace to dry it....paint the table we're eating dinner off of....

Prozac is the med you're looking for!

Hope the party is fun!

haha!!!! 20 teens? and your desire to get the painting projects done NOW! :o) I love that our kids have always had their friends come to our house as they were growing up...now, after empty nesters, that doesnt happen unless they are home from college and then it is bring out the food and find them hanging out again. :o) In our next home, I really would love a large basement for that and for us to have fun with future grandbabies.

Blessings & Aloha!
Thank you for stopping by my post about our son's parachute jump. That is awesome that your friend gave that as a gift to her daughter! I was not too keen about it...but then after learning our son's girlfriend's grandma was doing her 2nd jump with them...well...that made me feel a little better! lol He had the video too...and it was amazing to "watch" as I was firmly planted to my chair! :o)

Debbie, what, what, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?????

Put the paint away, then let Calgon literally take you away so you can have your head in the game for the party tonight!!!!!

But I need to practice what I preach. Who in their right mind redecorates two rooms in her house the same week she is packing her daughter's things for college? Who you ask? That idiot would be moi!!!! :/

Enjoy the party tonight!

Deb,
I feel for you. I have been there done that also. Decided to stencil a chair rial on my living room walls, (years ago when it was in style) the night before my sons birthday party. I was up till 3am, but got it done. We must be alike and have brilliant ideas before a big event. LOL I'm sure the kids will love it. Hope everything is in one piece when it's over:)

Debbie...step back from the paint. lol We've done lots of 20+ teen parties but I don't think I've ever tried to paint in the middle of getting ready! I am sure the party will be fabulous and they will all be smiling like the balloons!

Oh Debbie Sweetie...
You are one brave chick. That is all that I can say. Paining projects with teens in the house? Only 20 you say? Have you lost your mind?

Oh I do remember those days. Now that my baby is 30, I think back on those days. They were fun.
Better your house than somewhere else.

Can't wait to see your finished projects sweet friend. I know they will be beautiful. Take care of that achy breaky back will ya?

Have a beautiful weekend. Country hugs from Phoenix, Sherry

I sorta think there might be a case of paint addiction going on. :-) Your energy level must be at warp speed all the time!

Hope the birthday celebration is great fun and a huge success.

I just wanted to let you know that I have started up a weekend linky party where you can link up posts about your favourite Pinterest pins for the week, your favourite music or even a bit of both! I'd so love to see you there Debbie!

Best wishes for a fun weekend,

Wow! You really take it all on. I can't imagine having that many teenaged boys in the house at one time. WD usually takes 3 or 4 of his friends up to our cottage for a weekend of jet-skiing and swimming, but 20? You're a brave woman.

Oh, such memories! You better watch those "Little Devils". You know they are out to get you and they will eat you out of house and home, then say they are hungry.
My mind immediately went to watermelons in the swimming pool and squealing "pretty little girls" screaming " Don't throw me in the pool" as they are dragged through the soggy and shifting sod.
And this was The Young Life Group !!
I am telling don't let those little buggers have an inch.
I really do miss the days! Sigh!
I am praying for you, you're gonna need it.
Hugs, Ginger, missing being Mama to teens.
