Calgon "take me away"
Why in the world does someone, MEANING me of course, decide to start a project when my son is having a party here tonight!
We have twenty teenagers coming, and I get it it my head to start painting.
Let's just say I am stubborn, and when I get it in my head, there is no getting it out.
Are there meds for that? I have to check with my husband.
He just kindly said to me...
Of course I have ironing to do in between all this chaos.
Then I decide it would be quick to paint this iron table, with a million grooves in it, NOT!~ Then I did not care for the color, and had to start over. The color is nice, just too light.
Then I decided those three black nesting tables, needed a makeover, something my husband told me long ago, NEVER to paint. Did I listen...NOPE!
those did not turn out well either.
we removed the coffee table and rug. We have a disco ball, and last night Mike and I tested out the scene.
We are thinking it would be fun for us, hope it is fun for them.
ought to be fun!!~
See you tomorrow night for the newbie party.

I like to refer to that symptom as functional OCD........it's a secret superpower!
Oh Debbie, you are braver than me, 20 teenagers in the house! I couldn't tolerate the thought of just having 3-4 pre-teens!
Have fun though, since you're a heart of the party!
omg i cant beleive it you turned into your Moma:)Bt not to worry when you get old it will wear off:)
Yes, you are crazy, but what can we say!
I love the smiley balloons and can't wait to hear about the party! They had to have had a ball!
I do crazy things like that too so don't feel bad as far as I know there are no meds for it! LOL
I can't wait to see the photos,, you are rare one for sure,, starting so much with all that going on,,and you said I was a busy one!!You got me beat!! You really have a beaitoful cozy home,,alot of times cozy and beautiful aren't found together you have managed it well beautifully!!
Thanks Laurie, that is a nice compliment.
You know, I do the same thing....decide I should shampoo the carpet an hour before guests arrive, then blast the furnace to dry it....paint the table we're eating dinner off of....
Prozac is the med you're looking for!
Hope the party is fun!
haha!!!! 20 teens? and your desire to get the painting projects done NOW! :o) I love that our kids have always had their friends come to our house as they were growing up...now, after empty nesters, that doesnt happen unless they are home from college and then it is bring out the food and find them hanging out again. :o) In our next home, I really would love a large basement for that and for us to have fun with future grandbabies.
Blessings & Aloha!
Thank you for stopping by my post about our son's parachute jump. That is awesome that your friend gave that as a gift to her daughter! I was not too keen about it...but then after learning our son's girlfriend's grandma was doing her 2nd jump with them...well...that made me feel a little better! lol He had the video too...and it was amazing to "watch" as I was firmly planted to my chair! :o)
Just keep looking at those smiley face balloons! I know everything will turn out great and the disco ball sounds like so much fun! Have a great time!
Debbie
Debbie, what, what, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?????
Put the paint away, then let Calgon literally take you away so you can have your head in the game for the party tonight!!!!!
But I need to practice what I preach. Who in their right mind redecorates two rooms in her house the same week she is packing her daughter's things for college? Who you ask? That idiot would be moi!!!! :/
Enjoy the party tonight!
(((hugs))),
Ricki Jill
My friend, you never cease to amaze,WHERE OH WHERE do you get the energy???...you need some calgon, and make yourself get in,just shut the door get in the tub and RELAX even if it's just for a few minutes, your brain will thank you.

Deb,
I feel for you. I have been there done that also. Decided to stencil a chair rial on my living room walls, (years ago when it was in style) the night before my sons birthday party. I was up till 3am, but got it done. We must be alike and have brilliant ideas before a big event. LOL I'm sure the kids will love it. Hope everything is in one piece when it's over:)
Good thing you don't have a basement, that is where I got my first kiss at my first boy/girl party! Watch out for closed doors. Hope it was fun.
Chaos is good! I'm sure you wouldn't have it any other way! Hope it's a great party and that the cute kiddos steer clear of wet paint! LOL xo
Yikes I am not ready for those days! Hope all goes smooth for you tonight!
Girl you can do it all.... I have faith in you have tons of fun tonight

Debbie...step back from the paint. lol We've done lots of 20+ teen parties but I don't think I've ever tried to paint in the middle of getting ready! I am sure the party will be fabulous and they will all be smiling like the balloons!
Heather
Oh Debbie Sweetie...
You are one brave chick. That is all that I can say. Paining projects with teens in the house? Only 20 you say? Have you lost your mind?
Oh I do remember those days. Now that my baby is 30, I think back on those days. They were fun.
Better your house than somewhere else.
Can't wait to see your finished projects sweet friend. I know they will be beautiful. Take care of that achy breaky back will ya?
Have a beautiful weekend. Country hugs from Phoenix, Sherry
I sorta think there might be a case of paint addiction going on. :-) Your energy level must be at warp speed all the time!
Hope the birthday celebration is great fun and a huge success.
xo

That is so me too. I will start doing another project before we have something going on at night...it often drives my husband crazy. I just like to see how much I can fit into one day.
Sounds like me :)
The kids are going to have a blast :)
XO
My advice run and hide in your room only coming out to refill food and drink and if there are loud crashing sounds.
Ha! You are a brave one with 20 teens!!! I'm sure you will get it all done because you have to. Sometimes it's good to have a lot going on, then relax with your Calgon.
The 2o teens in the house don't bother me as much as seeing that painted table on your hardwood floor! Now that's scary. I can't wait to see party pics.
Oh I so remember all those teens and all their talk and laughter. Our house was always the hangout and seems like we had that many every day. I'm sure we didn't, but my memory thinks we did. Have fun. Hugs, Marty
Happy Saturday!
I'm sure the party will be a huge success. I had to laugh, because I am the same way, when I get an idea in my head, there is no stopping me! lol!!
((HUGS)) and enjoy the day! Post pics when you get a chance, would love the them! XO ~Liz
You are braver than me! I'm so not ready for these teenager parties. Good luck with it all!
I just wanted to let you know that I have started up a weekend linky party where you can link up posts about your favourite Pinterest pins for the week, your favourite music or even a bit of both! I'd so love to see you there Debbie!
Best wishes for a fun weekend,
Natasha.
20 teen ager.... i wouldn't be anxious about the party, but the after-party would be the part that scares me.... are you sure you'll have time to blog tomorrow? wish you lot of fun! and not too much mess!
Wow! You really take it all on. I can't imagine having that many teenaged boys in the house at one time. WD usually takes 3 or 4 of his friends up to our cottage for a weekend of jet-skiing and swimming, but 20? You're a brave woman.
Oh no! I can't yell at you, I'd be doing the same darn thing. It's hard when inspiration strikes not to run with it. Unfortunately, it always has to strike at the worst times!
Hope the party goes well...I'm sure it'll be the talk of the teenage sect!
Hope you get to relax, Supergirl! Have fun partying!..
Christine
Deb your not alone, I'm the same way!! Take lot's of pictures, this sounds like it's going to be an AWESOME PARTAY!! Martina
Oh, such memories! You better watch those "Little Devils". You know they are out to get you and they will eat you out of house and home, then say they are hungry.
My mind immediately went to watermelons in the swimming pool and squealing "pretty little girls" screaming " Don't throw me in the pool" as they are dragged through the soggy and shifting sod.
And this was The Young Life Group !!
I am telling don't let those little buggers have an inch.
I really do miss the days! Sigh!
I am praying for you, you're gonna need it.
Hugs, Ginger, missing being Mama to teens.
I hope Alex had a wonderful disco birthday party and didn't leave too much of a mess to clean up. Enjoy these teen age years -- they go so fast and then they're off to college!
You are the best! Can't wait to hear about the disco party. Have fun!
WOW hope the disco party went well. Can't wait to see the photos. You need to slow down and smell the roses! Just kidding I don't think they made a slow down word for you! Hugs, Vicky
I've been there done that with the party thing! Our house was always the hang out! Enjoy this time because before you know it, they will be gone. All you will have is the memories and I wouldn't trade them for anything.
Enjoy,
Gail
God blss you and your ENERGY!!!!!!!!! I hope the party was a HUGE success! I bet all the kids tell your son he has the COOLEST Mom!!!!! I remember those days, parties and kids all over. Fun times.....MOSTLY:):) XO, Pinky
I knew everybody would have a good time cause you are such a cool mom. Great disco party! I would have loved to be there! Happy birthday to your son, he is such a handsome guy...Christine
