DIY pillows out of placemats NO SEW!

Some time ago a dear reader friend Peggy, gifted me some gorgeous placemats.
Peggy does not have a blog but she has a shop on line you can go check out.
I used them on our table for sometime.

Until one day my younger boy spilled some red juice all over them!
Fortunetly, I was able to clean it and the stain was removed. With that being said I removed them from the table.  Fabric and boys just do not go well together.  A few days ago I had a brain storm!

How about I make some pillows....

They would even look as though they were sewn....see the little stitching?

This project took me all of 10 minutes to whip out.

OOPS it is upside down, better go and flip it now!

The liquid stitch was fantastic to work with.  I stuffed the pillows with some stuffing I bought at Walmart.
It comes in a huge bag and is in the sewing section.

So, if you ever see place mats, you should see them in a new light other than just for the table!

I find it so hard to keep nice looking placemats at the kitchen table. Hubby is a stain making kind of guy, so I've finally just opted for some ugly leather looking ones that can be wiped clean.

Yours really did make nice looking pillows! And so easy too.

You had me at "no sew"! Love these. Now I will start searching yard sales and thrifts for some cute place mats
to repurpose. If I wore a hat, it would be off for you:)

Awesome idea. I used to use a webbing tape that you would iron on, but it kept getting stuck to my iron. But this looks so much easier!

That's a great idea! I use fabri-tac on everything. I don't own a sewing machine and if I did, I would have to be taught how to use it. So using glue is faster and cheaper! Your pillows look very professional. I'd never know they were placemats in a former life.

The pillows look wonderful, Debbie. Nate Berkus suggested this project on one of his earlier shows, along with using a fabric shower curtain to cover dining room chair cushions - they're already treated to repel liquids!
Have a lovely evening, Debbie!

Debbie...so no sew..I have often thought about using the liquid stitch, does it hold and last?..I have to drag the sewing machine out of hiding, find the right color thread, thread the needle,etc..it sometimes isn't worth the trouble for small projects,it is good to know if the liquid stitch is the answer to my small projects, thanks for sharing and I LOVE these place-mat pillows.
