Embellished lampshades, how I love thee!

Embellishing a lampshade has to be the easiest thing to spruce up a lamp shade.
There are so many wonderful ideas out here in the land of blogs.
Something was not sitting right with me in my recent guest room Fall decor transformation.

Although, I simply adore this lamp and shade, I believe it was a bit too busy, with the bedding.
I don't mind busy, but this was too much for me.

You remember recently I just made over this desk...

And you see the cute little lamp...

Well I did a swap aroonie..

Still going with the burlap...
I cut a few circles, folded them in half, made a little stitch at the fold and added (hot glued) a cute button.

Then I just randomly hot glued them to the shade.

Like my cute little travel clock?
Scored that for $3.00 at a Garage sale...
Wish I would have bought all three that were for sale, they are pretty cute!

OOPS I see a hanging thread, I must go trim that now...

Here is how the desk looks now..with the other lamp on it...

My No. 1 chair is also a score from a local boutique selling second hand decor.

You know if the magic eight ball says...

Then that is the way it is staying!

Hope to see you cool cats starting tomorrow sometime for my Magazine copy cat challenge.

Love the embellished shade Debbie.

Believe it or not I had a brainstorm this afternoon and found a picture to copy. Voila! I have a post for Magazine Copycat. Was fun putting it together.

I must say that I think the little button flowers on the shade are too, too cute. I will do that to a lamp, just you wait! I love it!!! I agree with Miss Teresa that they are definitely Anthropologie-like. I stalk Anthropologie!!!

Love those lampshade transformations! I've done one of my own, before, but it was very simple by just adding some ribbon at the bottom of the shade. Those fancy lampshades can cost a fortune at the stores, so you saved yourself alot of money by doing it yourself!

That is so cute Debbie, I love it! You're so talented:)

The last few times I've come to your blog I get a weird pop up thing that says something like Katillacshack and asks me to sign in. I just close it but has anyone else mentioned this or is it just moi???

I love the burlap accents on your lamp. How very creative! Usually I just add trim or flowers to my lamps to dress them up, but I like your special touch.

Loving your magic 8 ball. Someone at my college internship at the public relations dept. at my college had one of those. We spent many days that summer asking that thing the oddest questions.
