Now I have to say, I only know of one other husband out here in blog land that cooks, and that is
Pam's {Design fantatic} husband.
I do believe he is a pastry chef...lucky girl!
My husband loves to cook and when he does it is always delightful. I only have a quick post and a few pics to share, but I wanted to know how many of your guys actually take on the kitchen once in a while.
This particular day was a gorgeous Fall outdoor dining experience.
Mike cooked German food.
Of course we needed our veggies and he just doctored up some carrots.
It was a glorius day indeed!
I do have a keeper.
Now don't get me wrong, this is not an every day occurrence here...
but I will say when Mike is off, he likes the kitchen too.
Hubby/boyfriend/significant other cook, or NO cook?
Perhaps you would rather him NOT!
I had to get this post out here, as Fall is leaving us quickly and I have a few more Fall posts to share.

This looks incredible!! He really knows how to make a spread!! The table looks lovely, too! So rustic and farmhousey!!
Hubby here does not cook. He can make a bagel!! he grew up with a nanny and really likes to be doted on. It's okay because I love to cook, but it would be a treat sometimes!
XO,
Jane
Mine cooks, and cooks well, but the mess afterwards....!
The food looks great but Debbie, those photos are just gorgeous!! Look like magazine photos!
Sadly my boyfriend is the ONLY [good] cook in the house! My skills are lacking and usually when I get optimistic and try and make something wonderful I see online or in a magazine, things don't end well!
Looks Delish! I love some yummy German food. Looked like a perfect fall evening to eat outdoors.
My hubby can cook...the question is will he cook? lol. I'd rather do the cooking and him do the cleaning cause boy do I hate the after dinner clean up!
Mine is a keeper too but definitely not because he cooks! :)Your photos are beautiful! and the weather looks perfect! oh and the food looks great too! :)
Oh Yes!!! My Sweet Man can cook... He's Italian and seems to be a Natural in the Kitchen... However he grew up on a Ranch and He sure can Deep Pit and Smoke Meat that is out of this World... Your table spread looks delicious...Are you going to be sharing that German Meat Ball Recipe...??
Some delicious looking spread.
It would be nice if my husband learned how to cook.
Dee
My husband is the cook in our family. I have to cook in order for the family to survive during the week, but on the weekends he takes over full time. Every Sunday night my parents come for dinner and he makes a new recipe, usually something incredible. His mom was a home economics teacher and he was a latch key kid and the combo turned him into a real chef. Funny enough, my son has started to help him on the weekends and is really learning to cook (and my daughter has little interest in cooking...kinda like me).
No cook here! And NO THANKS because the few time he HAS cooked there is a HUGE-I mean HUGE- mess. The story at our house was if Dad was cooking and the fire decector went off - dinner was ready. I'm serious. I can't tell you how many times that happened...about as many as he "cooked". xo Diana
Oh yes, my hubby cooks! In fact, one of our very first dates he cooked a special dinner for me. *swoon*
I also have three brothers that like cooking too. In fact, one of them was a grill cook in a restaurant.

I am one of those blessed few whose hubby does cook and is pretty darn good at it! He makes a seafood chowder every year on New Year's Day which is just beyond scrumptious! :-)
Vanessa
P.S. Mike's meal looks incredible!
Oh you lucky girl. Everything looks delicious. Hubby here doesn't enter the kitchen except to eat and can you believe he once owned a restaurant! Peggy
You lucky girl! He seems to cook quite well too! I have always loved to cook, and hubby loves to eat, so it is a win win! But in the past few years though, he has taken a bit of an interest in certain things we make. We have found we love to make pizzas together. And bread! Other than that, he does not cook.
Debbie that sure looks good and the table looks fabulous too! The hubby here does not cook but he will take on the grill.
My hubby does all the cooking, its way to relax after a stressful day in the office! The spread and table look wonderful!
Tommy always cooked and he was great at it. I actually gave up doing any cooking during those 6 years and he baked too. more importantly, he cleaned up his entire mess:)
now I'm back to cooking and I cant say I love it..
Kudos to you MIKE for being such a good hubby and for sharing your darlin Deb with us..
This all looks fantastic. How fun is it for him to take over and do a little cooking. No, my DH has no idea what to do in the kitchen. I even had to show him how to warm a cinnamon roll in the micro the other day. lol. I think the kitchen just scares him, but then his mother didn't cook either. Hugs, Marty
That is a delicious looking meal!
You're right... he's a keeper :)
We're pretty fortunate around here; my sweet husband cooks, gardens, constructs, cuts wood, fishes, etc.. etc.
That is a gorgeous table and meal, and I'm glad you shared with us!
He's a keeper alright!! My hubby used to cook all the time more when I worked....now it's homemade pizza every Friday night. He is more of a breakfast guy.
My husband is more of an eater than a cooker but he makes a mean batch of crepes. :-)
If it can't be nuked, mine doesn't cook it.
Yes, my husband does cook. He makes a wonderful spaghetti sauce. He cooks a couple times a month - more in the summer when we use the grill. He always helps in the kitchen and ALWAYS does the dishes!!! Yep, I got a good one too.
My hubby cooks here and if I might add...he's a good cook and very creative with his cooking!!!! Mines a keeper as well.
My hubby cooks!! I praise!
My husband actually cooks all the time . He is creative and enjoys cooking/baking. We have four boys and all four of them also enjoy cooking. it is win/win for our family.
My husband wasn't a cook, but we had a good arrangement. I cooked, and he cleaned up! My son however, is an excellent cook and cooks often for us around here.
PS: I forgot to say! Your husband's German food looks incredible.
The food looks delish, Debbie.
Yes, J cooks. He loves to cook and since his retirement we usually share in meal prep.
He is also a wonderful chicken fryer.:-) He fries chicken for weddings and such, for Knights of Columbus. He always fries fish and chicken at home, too...most of the time in an outdoor fryer.
Oooh, that looks delicious! Looks like Mike did very well! : ).. And thankfully, my husband cooks because if it was up to me, "we'd starve to death". Lol.
I am married to a firefighter so in a word....yes! He didn't know how to cook anything before he became a firefighter though. They're on their own so they either have to learn to cook or eat out all day. He cooks better than me! He made homemade beef stew last night and I told him I wished I remembered to take pics so I could blog about it with the recipe. It was delicious. I love a man that can cook! Hang on to yours too!! That food he cooked looks delicious.
My husband does get an itch to cook, but I'm not sure it is worth the mess he makes when he's doing it. It's kind of like "here's your dinner honey" and off he goes to watch football leaving behind the aftermath of every ingredient and dish he used. I try not to say anything...at least he tried.
My hubs is a wonderful griller and has a few other culinary skills. Not his favorite thing to do, but he does help out sometimes. Lucky you, Debbie!!
Well the last one I had Cooked !LOL
he loved to cook a ham? he was a country boy and grew up with hogs and country hams
He is in heaven now
he even did dishes and mopped the kitchen after dinner ( I miss that)
anyway I want a man to cook for me and clean, do yard work, and let me spend lots of time shopping for repurposed antiques
My husband is a fabulous cook, but what I love best about when he cooks, HE CLEANS UP! teeheeeee I also love it when we cook together. The love touches, the pats, the bumps, the excuse me ... the giggles. I so adore that time.
Debbie this looks cozy...delicious and nutritious...lucky you..I have a man that likes to cook...most of the time his favorite is breakfast...he makes killer waffles and scrambled eggs...I'm always grateful for a breakfast he cooks for me ...so decadent...blessings
Dear hubby absolutely cooks! He grew up with 7 brothers and sisters; and my MIL made sure that they all could cook! He usually does most of the cooking on the weekends, since he's home. I think he enjoys us pumping him up! LOL!
What a beautiful table! Looks like a wonderful meal.
My husband is a fantastic cook. I do all the baking, candy-making, etc., but Jack is a wonderful chef. He also loves the Food Network and likes to try new recipes, especially from Giada DeLaurentiis and Tyler Florence. What's more, my middle son (now 18 years old) also loves to cook. His favorite is Alton Brown--we've had some amazing Alton dishes over the years.
Let me just say. . . if someone else will do the cooking, I'm happy to wash the dishes! :)
what are the balls, they look like theres potato in them,, looks good, he did really well, lucky you!
My husband cooks breakfast and since he retired he does cook, when I was recovering from the head injury and now my sight has gone kaput he does cook, it is possible to train this beast,, it just takes time and as for cleaning up, that takes even longer training and maybe a big whip, no I'm kidding now whip,,
anyone who has a husband who loves to cook is very lucky in my book.
I love German food! I've been there many times and love all their rich dishes! My husband cooks.....sometimes!
When I was married, I cooked, but he did take out the trash.
You are a lucky girl! My husband will cook basics, like breakfast stuff or grilled cheese sandwiches. That's about it though, he hates to cook!
Does David cook? I am laughing so hard I am almost chocking! David will grill a steak or burgers or chicken outside on the barbie ~ but that is the extent of his culinary talents! You my friend are one lucky girl and that meal looks delish!!
Hugs,
Susan and Bentley
My husband does ALL the cooking in our house. Lucky me!!!
How wonderful that your hubby likes to cook and it looks delish too!
Liesl :)
My husband loves to cook and has several dishes that are his specialties! I'm so glad...it helps me to have some nights when he takes over! ♥
Hi Debbie, My husband cooks quiet often and he is a good cook. Of course he is retired now so he has some spare time. He also does laundry and vacuums. He's a keeper.
That looks yummy! My husband does not cook, other than grilling out (and then it's just basic steak or hamburgers). I dated a chef for a long time and oddly enough he never wanted to cook when he wasn't working. We ate out a lot!
So beautiful. You're a lucky girl! My husband grills, and he can make a mean slice of bacon or fry up a tomato. The clean-up is another story:-)
I must say ladies, I am pretty impressed with all the Men that cook out there. Cheers! WOW, and some even vacuum...OK I have to work on that one. Have a great night.
Lucky me, too! My hubby cooks very well ... and his presentation is nice, too! When we team up for a party, he often does most of the cooking and I set a pretty table. Definitely a keeper!
Well Dan does everything else but cook! He will grill a burger but that's about it! You are lucky your hubby will do that and does a good job! The food looks wonderful!
Wow, Debbie! What a feast! Thanks for the mention...Hope all of you are safe tonight. The pics on the news of the tornado in Rock Hill are pretty scary :/

My hubby likes to cook only on the BBQ Grill!! His Ribs and Steak's are T.D.F. Your photos are gorgeous Debbie!!
I hope you have a great week with your family.
XXOO Diane
Nope no hubby cooking going on here. Mikes meal looks so delicious Debbie and you photos are beautiful.
Nope, no one cooks here! Maybe you could send your hubby over, and tell him to wear those sexy plaid shorts!
Carol
Sweet Old Bob cooks and also does it well. Tomorrow he is cooking turnip and mustard greens. We will have some cornbread, too. Hugs, Ginger
OMYGOSH, DebbieDoo...this is fantastic. It all looks sooo good. You are a lucky woman, woman!! :)
Mr. Sweet does indeed cook a little bit in the kitchen. His specialty, however, is on the grill.
AND...I have my Dec. 5th Copy Cat Holiday style post all ready to go. Woo Hoo...I so enjoy your copy cat meme, Debbie. So much fun...I look forward to it every month.
xoxo bj
YUMMY, Debbie! Looks absolutely delicious. There is something quite relaxing (and, okay ... sexy lol) about watching a man cook, isn't there? John cooks when I ask ... he loves to grill!
Wow, your're a lucky girl indeed. My husband is lost in the kitchen, but I raised my son right. He's a great cook shares kitchen duties with his wife. This meal looks delicious and what a beautiful fall celebration.
Happy Thanksgiving Debbie to your and yours.

That all looks so good! My hubby can cook but he does't that often..when he does, it's always good!! My girls are good cooks now so he doesn't t get much of a chance at the moment. Your photos look like a magazine!
That looks amazing! My hubby grills(man, fire, grunt, grunt, grunt,) but he doesn't do much in the way of cooking. Lucky you with a hubs who cooks! Thanks for sharing.
Lucky you! What are those rice ball looking things? My hubby cooks a few things here and there.
His meal looks fantastic! I looked at the pics before I read the post and said to myself, "that looks just like German red cabbage!" It blew me away when I read what you wrote. I am German born and remember some fantastic dishes. Are ya gonna just make us hungry or ya gonna share Mike's recipes, LOL
Wow, what an amazing spread...looks YUMMY! My hubby loves to grill and it is always a treat for me when he fires that thing up! Always tasty and he does enjoy it!!!
My hubs is a wonderful cook! In fact he does the majority of the cooking at our house. We're from South Louisiana & here its more uncommon to find a man that doean't cook.
Oh wow, Debbie, I just wish I had a man...cook or no cook! LOL! Everything looks yummy and I love the color of that mum, by the way! Lucky you...and I was surprised, also, by all the husbands who cook!
Cindy
Does he COOK??!?!??!!! Ahahahahahahahahahaha!!! Not EVEN!!! That child isn't even allowed to make himself a bowl of cereal, let alone turn the stove on!!! There is NO WAY my husband is setting foot in my kitchen to do anything by eat! Oh, that's funny...Ramon cooking. I can't even stop laughing on that one! :-) YOUR husband, on the other hand, seems to know EXACTLY what he's doing in the kitchen, so he's a real keeper for sure! Lucky you!!! Give him a "high five" for me!
Oh, that German meal makes me think of the two years I lived in Wisconsin! My husband is a WAY better cook than I am! And, he cooks healthier! BUT, and I am only writing this because I know he won't see it...he does tend to burn things. So, I must be available to jump in to rescue some dishes!
My husband makes delicious breakfasts!!! He also helps a lot in the kitchen and makes great mashed potatoes. But YOUR husband does an AMAZING job!! And veggies no less!
Happy Thanksgiving!
