How to stencil a table top! {DIY}

Hello all!  I have been crazy busy this past week. Thought I would show you how exactly I stenciled my table top! I have been
getting ready for company, ready for the holidays,
and of course throwing a few more projects on my plate!

When I was doing the ceiling medallion with my cutting edge stencil, my husband actually came up with a genius idea!

You see this stencil came in a half moon shape, which made it very simple to work with on the ceiling around a light fixture.
Seeing it was a perfect circle, my husband suggested I do this table that I have been wanting to paint for years.
It is an Ethan Allen table that was gifted to us from my MIL.  It has taken some wear and tear on the top though.

As you can see I have been busy Christmas decorating.
Tree is  up, Mantel is done, kitchen, and living..DONE!
I know, I way over function sometimes.

I used a black satin craft paint, and just rolled it on as I did the ceiling.
A small foam roller is all you need.
Stencil tape, craft paint, paper towel to dab excess paint off the roller.
I also did two coats of satin poly on it when it dried just to protect it from chipping.

It really does look pretty in person, and the best part was it took me all of 15 minutes!

So that is what I have been up to!
How about you?
Anyone else got their tree up, Christmas shopping done, etc, etc?

Enjoy the day.
Thanks for popping over!

We bought a new prelit tree yesterday. We will probably set it up this weekend just to make sure it works. We won't decorate it until Thanksgiving weekend though. Love the tabletop. It looks professionally done.

Oh how do you ever get it all done. With the three year old in the house now it seems I barely have five minute blocks of time to do anything. She starts preschool in the summer so maybe then or maybe I will just lay around and catch up on my TV DVR. Kidding.

It's beautiful and I can't believe it was so fast and easy! Stenciling and I, well, we just don't get along, that's all. But I've never tried a roller... my paint always seeps up under the stencil, sigh.

I haven't decorated for Christmas because we're having 43 for Thanksgiving lunch (they bring the food except I provide the turkey). but the minute they walk out the door, I am so onto Christmas :)

Thanks for sharing,
Mary
