Not your typical Christmas present! {vintage, rustic home decor} NEWBIE party started!
This my friends is not your typical Christmas present one would expect from their husbands.
Some girls love diamonds, some love perfume! Me, yes, I love those things too, however, give me something old, something different, more of a conversation piece, and that is really the perfect gift for me.
Of course anything rooster works too, just in case your wondering.
You know I love things of sentiment as well.
I will be sharing soon a very lovely gift my father- in- law gave me as well, that I love, however, I have to be dressed purty to show you that one.
This brings me to Mike's very unique gift to me.
Very old, very rustic, and indeed very unique.
The funny thing about this, is that I saw this piece when I was out antiquing with my blogging friends, Cindy and Carrie
I stopped dead in my tracks, said "WOW this is cool", but I have no place at all to put it and Mike would kill me if I come home with it.
It wasn't that cheap let's just say that...it wasn't that expensive either, but it was not the typical good will price, and score I would normally make.
I am frugal like that.
All I can say is, Mike and I are so on the same page sometimes it is scary!
However, it is a good thing, we both like strange and unique stuff.
I am sure you are thinking, why on earth do you like this old, typo's all over, church bulletin?
I don't know, I just do!
But no worries, my husband did add in a little bling too...
In fact this too is made from old keys and bolts...
Pretty cool necklace!
Oh and if you are wondering where we found a place to hang the new bulletin...
We found the perfect spot!
Merry Christmas to all!
Let's get this Newbie party started.
Next week I will put up the link, and if you can make it, great if, not, no biggie, see you next week.
I just want you to know the option will be available to join in.
This is how the foyer looked a while back.
He does this every year, he is like a little kid and can't wait, that's why!

I love your old register! Mike did good! I think it must be from an old Baptist church because they had Training Union on Sunday nights.
Love your posting board and your party Debbie. Not sure if this will be my last time to party as a Newbie...my followers have grown a lot this month...I maybe over 100 in the next week or two. But it has been fun! Merry christmas and wishing a very blessed new year to you and yours!
So cute! I have seen these before, too. I wonder how many pairs of hands have had the opportunity to change the placards. Such history! andrea@townandprairie

I love old, strange, funky unique items as well Debbie. This is an awesome piece. Hubby did well. I remember going through a garage at an estate sale, and having one "gentlemen" tell me that the "girl" stuff was inside. If looks could kill, he would have been very dead. lol
I love all things old! This is a beautiful gift, and you found the PERFECT spot for it! Glad to know I'm not the only one who tends to rush Christmas. I love opening presents early. Have a great week, and thanks for hosting this Newbie party. xo
I love the church sign and I totally get your decorating and your house, how great you and hubby are in synch, so what do all your friends think of your house? Do they get it??
Carol
For my B day, my hubby gave me an old pulley from a fishing boat. I love it! My friends didn't sound too impressed when I told them, but I'd love that over jewels and perfume any day =) I love your new board!
I love it! It's a perfectly unique gift & it fits in your home so well. It's just "you".
Hi Debbie Dear! Oh, what a treasure! When I was a little girl our church had a board like this and it changed each Sunday! The Sunday School attendance was there, the Offering was listed and the church membership! How neat! It looks like it found the right spot too! :)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
What a great gift Debbie!! Mike did goooood!! Love your new necklace too:)
Carol, in reference to your question. Yes, my friends get my house LOL..let's just say they do ask a lot of questions though. But I think we have inspired a few to do more thrifting and digging for family treasures.
What a sweetheart! Did you give him a big hug! It's perfect! WOW! ♥♥♥
Wow! I love how Mike can just about read your mind! What an awesome gift! Love it! Thanks for sharing.
Love this board and where you put it....been offline over a week and couldn't wait to come here and see whatcha been up to...gonna go check out everything I've missed
I like that church board and would love to find something like that. We went to a small country church for over 20 years and the attendance and hymns were always posted. You found a perfect place to hang it.

Congratulations on your Christmas gift! Those are my favorite kind! Thanks for hosting this party for those of us who are new!
I want to add you to my google reader to keep up with everything!
Debbie your home is just beautiful, and your husband knows you so well, what a wonderful gift.
Debbie, you and Mike are on mine and Joe's same page as we have an old solid wood church podium. I love this church board. It is unique and fabulous. Vintage is so the way to go and sometimes you simply must pay a little more and that makes up for all the money saved elsewhere. Olive
What an absolutely fantastic gift Debbie! It just looks so perfect in that spot and I think it is wonderful that your hubby appreciates unique finds as much as you do! :-)
Vanessa
I love your church bulletin board! What a great place to put little messages or quotes, so many possibilities if you decide to change it up a little!

Sherry
