She is so cute...and very creative indeed.

Then my friend Sheila from Note songs...well she claims to be a copy cat, or at least admits it.  I think she puts her very own creative spin on it. Check out her very creative wreath

Off to Roanoke!

http://s3.amazonaws.com/activerain-image-store-2/image_store/region_images/ar120535086190257.jpg
As I mentioned earlier this week we are taking a family road trip this weekend. We love to to jump in the car and go  venture to new places.  That is one great thing about living in the Carolina's, we are so centrally located to take road trips that are NOT that far.
So this weekend heading to Roanoke Virginia.  Anyone been there, or live there? https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg289zv7liM4GWT4-H2o9bNY_GQfLYfPJ1cSaydvTGDneUGC3EGTcZvA9IF0aD-jIBXtn4FZ6IKMDNT11PkEU1pA1K6MIDUVFm2aR9gbPYOOdscdMF161xAJqY4gdSs353flRLfgu4BUfrk/s400/IMG_1179+Moundsville,+WV+(copyright)+10-13-2008.jpg
Sure looks beautiful. Of course a lot of history, antique shops and cool sites to see.
Sure hoping we see some pretty Foliage on our way there.  It is about a 3 1/2 hour road trip.
If anyone can recommend something cool, we would love that. We of course have brochures and have a few fun things planned.
My husband has  already researched cool dives to eat at and coffee shops to hit.

Have a great weekend everyone. And thanks for stopping by and as always your lovely comments.
Just another reminder there will be NO GARAGE SALEN party today. See you next week though. Maybe I will find something cool in Virginia to share with you all.

It's a great pumpkin Charlie brown!

Special announcement!!~ There will be a bad craft party early next week. I am thinking I will have the link up Sunday. I had another craft I did probably about a month ago. It was BAD! Almost as bad as the pumpkins. So in other words, it never made the blog cut.

COME ON I know you have a few bad one's too!. Don't be a chicken, let's have a few laughs. And hey if your not a crafter, try your hand at it. Go to the Dollar tree and spend a couple of bucks and let's see what you come up with. Now this can be something silly too, not necessarily BAD, something that makes us smile too.  However, let us know this is a SMILE one...so we don't hurt your feelings and say OH yes" bad one, bad one"!!~ But when I say makes you smile...it really needs to be something fun, and funky, totally out of your comfort zone to make, in other words you in a million years would not make this otherwise.
Sound fun? Ok hope to see you starting a week from today!
If you missed my first post about my Craft gone bad HERE it is
Oh and HERE is our latest and greatest GOOD project, I do not want that to go unnoticed, my husband would be sad HAHAHAHA!!~

girls juSt wanna Have FUn!

I believe I have mentioned I play  a game called Bunco, you may of heard of it or even play yourself! What a great game it is.  If you can get about 10-12 girls together once a month, I think you should start one yourself.  It is a no brainer dice game!~ You potentially can win $50 or more in the night.  Although, I have only won once, I think it is worth my initial $5.00 to play and have a fun night out with friends.  One of our friends in the group lives on the lake and she offered instead of a Bunco a night, how about a night out on her Pontoon Boat! Well, don't ask anyone twice on that offer.  We started off at her what she calls "TIKI" Bar and then from there went to our one and only restaurant on the Lake.  It was great night had by all, and I thought I would share with you my crazy group of friends.  What you may see here is no reflection of sweet innocent me...HA HA!!~ We had a blast.
Mary's Tikki bar has a beautiful view of the Lake...she has had many great parties here!
This is on our way to the Restaurant...kinda mellow for now.
I really do not know why my friend Sara is kissing me on the cheek...I think she is saying something like "Oh Debbiedoos your so cute, and I am so lucky to be your friend" Yeah if my memory serves me correct that is what she was saying.......NOT!
The sun starting to go down...so pretty!
Back at the Tikki bar...and now the girls are starting to get wild....ha....if they only knew I am posting these pictures....

GOODnight Moon....

Tega Cay, South Carolina, Love where you Live?

If you are familiar with my blog, by now you have all figured out....I REALLY love where I live!~
And if you are NOT, welcome, let me show you some
 Lake living!
Everyday I truly look around and feel there is no other place in the world I would rather be.
That is a great feeling too.  It is a small suburb surrounded near big city life.  We have the best of both worlds...if we want peace and quiet we have it.  But then we are a cars ride away from beautiful cities surrounding our area. Our closets city is Charlotte, North Carolina, which is 15 minutes away.
One of our favorite things to do in the Summer is enjoy our Lake.  Lake Wylie that is.
The man-made lake was first formed when the Catawba Power Company built the Catawba Dam and Power Plant near India Hook, South Carolina in 1904.
This dam impounded the Catawba River and created Lake Catawba, which was utilized to create hydro-electric power. In 1905 the Catawba Power Company became part of the Southern Power Company.
In 1924 the Southern Power Company raised the level of the dam and a built a new Catawba Hydroelectric Station to replace the original. This new facility opened in August 1925, increasing the surface area of Lake Catawba from 668 acres (2.7 km2) to 13,400 acres (54 km2). The Southern Power Company was merged with Duke Power Company in 1927.
In October 1960 the power station was renamed the Wylie Hydroelectric Station and the lake was renamed Lake Wylie, both in honor of Dr. Walker Gill Wylie, one of the founders of the original Catawba Power Company that had created the lake and become Duke Power.

Not only is the Lake beautiful, the homes on the water are spectacular.

Let's start with the hot tour guide!~
Yes Mike is an awesome boater, he learned pretty quickly.  We have several launching stations in our area....some better than others, however Mike has done pretty well with all of them.
Next up the AMWAY house.
If you have ever heard of AMWAY...let's just say this family had to be at the top of the Pyramid, as their home is spectacular.
And from what I hear, they are a super kind, generous family.  I would love to go inside their home to take a peek.
Their grounds alone are spectacular.

They truly have a little slice of heaven here.

This house here is my favorite on the Lake...I love the stone and wood, and they have a very private setting.  Built in pool too.

This is one of the very few flat backyards in our area...they have a nice set up. I always notice flat backyards here, they are far and few between.

I have to be honest....this is my least favorite thing to do on the lake is tubing.
By the end of it, I feel ill, and I am a nervous wreck the entire time.  This never stops anyone from having fun though.  Some times our friends even want to give it a try

This is my friend Lisa, my son Jack in the middle and Lisa's son.  She started off pretty cool...all I can tell you is by the end she was screaming to get off.  By the end of the night, she could barely walk,  She said every muscle in her body was killing her.
Hope you enjoyed our fun day of play on Lake Wylie!~ Tell me a little something fun about where you live.

Home Tour

This is a home tour post from 2010. There have been a few decor changes since.
 And here is our story.....
We never stepped foot in our home until the day we closed on it.  We had only looked through the windows, and saw the interior home layout on paper.  I knew from the minute I stepped on the front porch, this was HOME.   Although a new built home, there where things we have done to make it unique to our style and what we love.  You will see our style is somewhat unique. We have spent years acquiring just the right pieces, for just the right places.   We entertain often and  have out of town house guests often.  I enjoy nothing more than staying home and enjoying quality time, and creating a warm loving environment for my boys to treasure for years to come.

Welcome.......
When you enter our home the first room you see is our family room.  We love old World style, I would say with a modern twist.  I love it when you do not know what is old and what is new.  Our pieces have meaning and lots of history.  We have enjoyed our hobby together of antiquing and thrifting.
I decided I would bake you some cookies, and have proudly displayed them on my home made tier platter: Idea inspired by:http://www.thetidynest.com, and also the veggie candle inspired by:http://www.recapturedcharm.com.  Both awesome blogs I would suggest checking out!~
Our kitchen is always undergoing accessory changes.  This season I have incorporated Blues and yellows.  Every room of our home has the same color schemes, however reversed.  I am always borrowing from one room to the other and switching things up for a new look....

I just added a little copper to the kitchen as well.  I have no problem mixing brushed silver and copper, golds, blacks....If I like it I say it works....there is my little home made wine cork trivet, you may view the tutorial here......
There is a little snippet of my modge podge project behind the sink you may also view the tutorial here.......
From the kitchen it is open to our family room, and this is where most of our square footage is in our home.  Some think our home is much bigger than it is because of the heigth of the 22 foot ceilings, however it is not as large as it appears, but just enough for me to take care of! This is the view from the kitchen island
Now onto our Master bedroom.  This is the most colorful room in the house.  I love the vibrant fun atmosphere, after all aren't we suppose to have fun in there too?? LOL....I have used a warm color pallet throughout our home.  Restoration hardware colors using Benjamin moore paint.  The kitchen and family room are Butter, and our bedroom is cappuccino
These colors just make me smile.....I have used the Better Home and Gardens collection this year purchased  at  Walmart.  The price is right and the quality is unbeatable.  Because I accessory  change seasonally so often in our home, I do everything on a budget.  This summer bedroom redo was around $200.00, which included bedding, sheets, pillows and window treatments.  The window treatments where purchased at pottery barn half price....they where 35.00 a panel and fully lined and great quality as well.
These candle urns I already had from last year, also Better home and Gardens collection.  I used them outside last year,  and thought this year they would go great in our bedroom.  The fun, colorful plates I also had for years and purchased those at Z-gallerie.
The candle hanging over the bench was purchased at Lowes Garden center last year for $30.00.....I love it!
Fall ambiance

Recent Spring guest room revamp. Painted the furniture Robin eggs blue (chalk paint). I made the art work over the bed.

THe bedding pillows are Cynthia Rowley found at TJ Maxx.
Hope to see you back again. If you are new to blogging, I host  a newbie linky party every Monday. Great way to meet new bloggie friends like yourself.
And here is a our new Master bedroom complete!
