Spring cleaning, painting, and photographing in the sun!

Happy Saturday morning to you all!
I am doing some serious Spring cleaning today!
How about you?
The sun is shining and oh that makes me happy.

The other day I shared with you some photographs I had taken on a dreary day.
I told you, I have to practice and learn to be a better photographer on a dreary day.
I wanted to show you the simple difference.

My pics from the other day I did not edit, and same goes for the Sunny day pics.
{I think one pic I did soften, but no enhancements or anything like that}

WOW my windows are dirty...that job is for another day!

I prove my theory correct.  It is much better to take indoor pics on a Sunny day.
Just refer to me as Einstein from here on in thank you very much!

In other news today, I am cleaning out the laundry room and getting ready for a fresh coat of paint next week.
These vines have GOTS to go!

I did manage yesterday to squeeze in a spray paint job...Ohhh do I have a new favorite color too!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
We are going to a Presidential party this evening.
It is going to be so much fun!

See you tomorrow for the newbie party.

And if you missed my announcement on the
Spring'tacular party, you may read all about that

Spray painting mason jars, Birthday, and Band!

My day has been a whirlwind today!
I can't believe how much I accomplished. Today is Mike's Birthday so first thing I want to say is Happy Birthday to my handsome wonderful husband! Poor guy had to work tonight, but I plan on making him a nice dinner tomorrow.
Second, Alex started BAND camp. 9:00 am to 9:00 pm! That is for the rest of the week. They take band extremely serious here. And believe me it shows.  Alex is starting High School this year and he is in Marching band. So he has A LOT to learn

He is the boy in the blue.
These kids in the heat of day, are learning how to march and hold their instruments.

I helped out some today and served the lunches.
Can I just say, Thank GOD I am not a lunch lady.  They work hard, fast and furious.
When it's time to eat, it's time to eat!

After that, I came home and picked up my little guy and we went running errands.  Almost back to school time, so I had to get back packs, and school supplies.  I also stopped in GOODWILL because Alex is having  a birthday 70's party on Saturday.

Today I decided I would set a nice table for dinner tomorrow.  I also had spray paint on my mind, so I shook up a few cans and painted some clear canning jars I picked up at Walmart a few weeks ago.

Don't ask me how or where I found the time. I get asked that question often...

I suppose I can say, I make time for the things and people I love.

"Come on get happy"!

"Hello World there's a song that I'm singing, come on get happy"! (name that tune) tell me at the end of the post who sings it!
I have had this pretty wood and metal cross for sometime now.  A friend gave it to me, as she thought she had no place to put it in her house. That was until she saw what I did and where I put it.
Then she thought perhaps she made a mistake giving it away!
It has was painted black around Fall and Halloween time.  It certainly need a spring makeover.
A bit blahhhhhzaaaa I would say!
Looking like a bit of sunshine around here!
More fun Spring changes to come. Stay tuned!
Thanks for stopping by, hope you had a dose of inspiration today to add some fun happy color to your world!

SiT, Stay for awhile

I have some fun projects I would like to Share with you.  So I hope enjoy your stay, and if you don't mind take a Seat on the front porch, and Sip a little Something!~
Our Japanese Maple this year is just beautiful.  When we first bought it three years ago it was very tiny and scrawny!
The purple clematis has taken off very nicely too this year.  The only thing I do to this is trim it down in the winter, I can't believe how fast it grows.
This Jasmine we planted four years ago when we first moved in....again I do very little to it, but trim it. It smells really pretty when you are walking up to the entrance. Now on to some projects.

As you can see a little paint transformation.  My friend gave me this cross as she had no where to put it after she purchased it....well after she saw how I displayed it, she wanted it back...NOTTA happening.....
I also painted the watering can, it was a copper color and I forgot to take the before.  Then I decided I would add some numbers to it. I may have to distress this cross...the more I look at it..I need to rough it up a bit. Next project in order now.....

This was a fun little project on windy day... I still have some yellow paint on my knees from a couple of days ago....anyhow we see these pots with the numbers on them and I thought I would give them a try....I chose the bright yellow because this is on the side of our home where the mailbox is...and we are forever getting other peoples mail, and Dominos never knows where to go....so THERE in your face you can see the address now!~
I used house numbers that you buy in a package at Walmart for I believe $6.00, however you receive 30 of them...so that is pretty good.....I ran out of black spray paint and have to pick up another can so I can finish the bottom of the planters.....that will drive me nuts! Not a far drive if I may add.....

My $3.00 find at Goodwill today....thought surely there is something I can do with it!
Thanks for stopping by.  I will be linking this post to a few parties for the rest of the week....I THINK I will be taking a break for the rest of the week until my Garage salen partay on Saturday....so be ready gals!~ And thank you all you lovely hosts for hosting these awesome parties.....love all you gals!

FrOm TrAsh to TreAsure~

This was my very first SUMMER redo project. Thrown to the curb and disposed of as junk! That certainly is not the way I saw this gem.  Very heavy piece at that, I managed to throw it in the back of my SUV and off I went.  I already had a color in mind, and could not wait to get started. First things, first. Clean this baby up.
I used a mild dish soap and cloth and wiped it down.  The piece had some substantial rusty spots that I lightly sanded.  Because the piece was light, I did not feel it needed to be primed.
I have had it for over a year now, and the spray paint job has held up well.
Come take a look for your self.

Pretty bad shape, and then the miracle unravels right before your very own eyes...
And TAA DAA..........

Added some fun colorful accessories and I have a pretty display piece for the summer!
If only they could see it now.
