Vintage photo display {upcycle diy project} Newbie party started!

This is just a simple,Vintage photo/earring display that I came up with.
Don't ask me, how or why this came into my head one day.
Perhaps because a lampshade fell on my head while opening a closet!

Yes, I have a few spare lampshades around that were just dying for something.  No the stencil you see in the back ground is not for a lampshade, I will show you later what I did with that.
So I tore this lampshade apart, and was left a small frame of it.

You know how much I love vintage, and my dear ole gramps too who is no longer with us...
He sure is in spirit though, and every day I feel that.

Anyhow....

I thought why not display some of my earrings and photos on it...
it was easy to poke a tiny pin hole in the picture and loop my earring through the hole and
hang it on the end of the shade guts...I don't know what else to call it.

Stick a little glass votive candle, and I have the perfect one of a kind vintage photo/earring display.

I have been just playing with my camera settings.  I am seriously bummed about Picnik closing down.
I have found a few other options, but they are not as USER friendly.

Like my cute chalk board too?  I just added Love...
It did have our initials and date married on here.
Fun to change it up though.

Just a simple little, free sentimental idea here!
Thanks for stopping by and joining in my newbie party.

MY GUIDELINES

*Blogging 6 months or less and or less than 100 followers.
*Would love for you to become a new friend of mine as well on google friend connect.
*PLEASE turn off Word verification, makes commenting very difficult, and you do not need it.
Blogger does a great job of deterring spam comments.
*PLEASE visit a few other participants, that is what you are here for!
*IF you find your link deleted, it is simply because you did not follow my simple guidelines.
*PLEASE add my link or button to your blog and/or post.
Please limit your links to two per newbie party.
thank you.
I would also like to mention, that we all should be watermarking our photo's.  Which basically means, add your name or blog name to each photo.  With pinterest on the rise in popularity, I see many pins out there with no name.
Do realize any party you link up to, gives people free reign to pin away, which is great, however, no name on the photo, no credit.  I always source out my features and I try only to feature ones with your names on them, that is for your benefit. Even though the pin may lead back to my original post, people would clearly see it was your work, with a link back to YOUR blog.
Don't forget to get in on the Annie Sloan chalk paint giveaway

I can't believe it's Monday again! I didn't finish my project today so I'm gonna have to work hard tomorrow morning cause I don't wanna miss the party. Or I could just go rip up a lampshade and make something cute and clever like that Debbie chick.

I am so deep in withdrawals from Picnik, I doubt I'll ever be the same again.
Just SICK about it. I, too, have been trying others but have not found one that even comes CLOSE to what we did in Picnik.
OOO, THE HORROR OF IT ALL.....

I am really loving your cute little lampshade guts. It looks really cute.
