This was
last years rustic garden. As you can see we live in a heavily wooded area. It is constant work and forever a mess. There is nothing pristine and clean about this area. We do love it though and enjoy sitting out by the fire, doing smore's and just kicking back. This year I decided to bring a little more color and fun to the gardens and front of our home....so kick back and enjoy your outdoor tour and all the changes I made this year......
This blue really is pretty, and I went a little hay wire as you can see coming up next
I also painted these chairs, they where Oak, and I painted and distressed them black
I recently made this cute whimsical wreath too, I actually saw one similar made here in blog land, I apologize for forgetting who, but if she sees it please let me know, so I may add her link I like to give credit where credit is due
My new Birthday present from my husband, I love it, he is so good!~ All my colors!
You pretty much know from the outside, how I decorate, as I bring the same theme and colors indoors
My Japanese Maple is just gorgeous this year. We planted it three years ago, and it was a twig tree, It really likes where it is
This arbor my husband gave me last year for my Birthday, I planted some Yellow Jasmine vine and it is really taking off. I will get a better shot later on in the Season.
I found these guys at an antique store a couple of years ago....all three for 5.00, then I found the mushroom to go with them.
If you ever need a cold beer out by the fire, here is an odd opener...hey it works it's whimsy and has four eyes
This arbor is planted behind the blue chairs near the outdoor fireplace. I am not sure of the name of the vine, but right now it has pretty yellow flowers on it, this is also near my kitchen window so when I look out I can see it
I love my copper Torches too, it looks cool at night when we light them
Oh look more blue what a surprise
This bench was red and became faded so I just painted in black last year, I am thinking maybe yellow this year...what do you think?
Hope you enjoyed your outdoor transformation tour as much as I did presenting it to you........
Great shadow shot here, boy am I tired!~

I love your garden. Very whimsical.
OMG! I am coming over in 5 and bringing the beer! You are absolutely a devine designer...no pun intended to Candice Olson, but you are fab. I bet you have a cute shop or you do this professionally, yes? Marvelous! From a scale of 1-10, I give you 15.
And in your spare time you do what exactly?!?
How do you manage to do all this? You have a beautiful home in a wonderful setting. Love the makeovers outdoors. I know trees can be a problem in so many ways but we live in a new development where no tree is taller than about 12 feet and everything still looks so new and I would love to have the view you do.
Just let me know when you start accepting commissions!
My goodness you have sure been busy making some serious Beauty. Everything looks so good. Your home gets more beautiful every time I see it. Love all the new outdoor decor~!
thanks so much for posting about my giveaway, I appreciate it so much..
hugs and happy thoughts
Sonny
Everything is absolutely gorgeous!!
Thank you so much for visiting my blog! I appreciate you stopping by and for your prayers too!
Have a great weekend!
Blessings,
~Lynn
You have been busy and everything looks great.
Thanks for visiting. No - I don't have a green thumb. I just plant fertilize, and water when needed and hope for the best. :-)
Have a great weekend.
Wow, the entire outdoor decor and atmosphere is very nice. Anyone visiting would feel quite welcome. I know I did just taking this virtual tour. I love that rustic looking wood window on the front of the house, and as for me, I would leave the bench black....but what do I know.
DEBBIE!!!!!! Your home is beautiful!!! Love all the color changes.
Deb, I know EXACTLY what you mean about living in the woods!!!! But I see that the front of YOUR home is free and clear....oh how I would LOOOOVE that!!!! You have done such a GREAT job transforming everything, it all looks terrific!!!! Right now I am freezing, I got spoiled with our FAKE SUMMER weather:):):):) Hope you are having a great weekend! XO, Pinky
The chairs and benches in every picture look so welcoming! My butt searches out for those first!
HOW Debbie? HOW? How do you do all of this? My head is posing all sorts of questions to me. How do you clean every part of your HUGE ESTATE every day?! The leaves on my plants are so dusty with the metro under construction, that i initially took the effort to spray each of them, now i just look and say, "You're used to that! Yes, you are!"
The husband sees to know exactly what you'd like. Fabulous taste for a man!
Your plants could land you first place in a gardening championship. I ope you already knew that!
Love all the colors Deb. It's what I love about you - you are colorful on the inside too - and I don't mean your house! Beautiful home!
xoxo,
Kim
so many things to say! first, i love your blog background. totally fun. i LOVED this outdoor tour of your porch and hang out spaces with the bright pops of color. what a sweet husband you have, he gives great birthday gifts! and am i the only one who noticed your welcome sign...is it missing a "c"? cute anyway.
and lastly, thank you so much for stopping by the cape on the corner and for your sweet words on my sunroom. i truly appreciate it.
Everything looks gorgeous Debbie! I'm inspired to get out and work in my yard...tomorrow...LOL!
well done Debbie, everything's great! have a nice week ahead!
flory
Everything is absolutly beautiful but I especially love the bench out front, it looks like such a nice place to sit and ponder life:)
I love how Whimsey Blue shouts "happy"! What a charming and wonderful and full-of-Debbiemagic your home is! Thank you for this delightful share!
Your yard looks so pretty! I am really liking all the blue, especially the chairs painted blue! Amazing how one little can of spray paint can help transform a whole back yard!!
Wendy
Love your yard Debbie! I hope you are sitting by the fire this evening- it's been such a beautiful day! I love the adirondack chairs painted blue...they look great. That sitting area is wonderful. I also really like the pillow on the front porch. If you paint the bench in the front yard yellow it would really stand out --- if you don't like it you can always try a different color! Hope you are having a great weekend! I am hoping to catch up on reading my favorite blogs tomorrow!
love all the fun colors i can almost smell the jasmine oh i can smell it i think i will just get on a plane .mike sure knows how to pick good gifts:) yes the bench would look cute yellow:)
Beautiful! You gave me some great ideas! We definitely need a front yard re-do!
Your home is sooo gorgeous!
Deb, everything looks so good. I love all the blue touches. It really pops. Love the vine growing over the arbor and hubby did good with the birdhouse.
I love it. You make me want to move home.
Those blue chairs are fantabulous! Don't you love my word I made up for my second graders?!? The front of your house looks stunning with those bright blue accents. It think the bench would be awesome in yellow with that blue and white ball there. Oh, I just want to snuggle up by that fire on a nice evening with a glass of wine and some s'mores!
Debbie, your home and your gardens are just beautiful! It looks like EVERYTHING likes where it is planted! I love your fireplace area- beautiful views! We love to sit out with a fire, too!
AH! Green's the word here...green with envy! Haha...love all you do Debbie, you just have that touch (o:
Love, love, love your beautiful yard. It's so beautiful and inspiring. Thanks for the beautiful pictures and thanks for visiting this week.
Excellent post, you certainly covered all the bases with this one!
I would love to have an outdoor fireplace wwhere we could sit on chilly evenings. The blue adirondack style chairs look great.
~Maggie~
Hi Debbie, I really dont know what "smores" are but it sure looks like a fun place to have 'em. Probably have the same thing here in Australia but call it something different! Anyhow, your garden looks gorgeous, love how the trees come right up to the house like that.

Whimsical blue chairs—
come, sit within my garden,
rest your weary mind.

BEAUTIFUL! I live in the midwest and we can't start planting or enjoying our yards until Memorial Day weekend. We could still get another snow storm here!
Your posts give me hope and inspiration. Enjoy the beauty around you!
Love all that bright blue. Looks great!
Beautiful! Absolutely beautiful!
I live in the woods, and trust me, I know what you mean about messy! Although it looks like you have all the brush cleaned up!
I love everything Debbie...wow, that place of yours isn't just pretty on the inside but the outside is spectacular, it just says HOME.....love love love the shutters and that birdhouse...the coolest one I've ever seen. I also want the stand it's on! Your blue is you...FUN!
Oh how fab! I like the job you did on the front porch rockers! I also really like your firepit area, we have a small metal pit but have been kicking around the idea to build one for awhile. Yours is really neat, the whole setting. But here's the crazy thing, I am most envious of those knomes elves and the deal you got. I have cement ones, but don't have colored ones and yours remind me of the vintage ones my grandparents had in thier yard. Soooo cute! You have a fun, happy yard! Love it!
I usually have lots of colour in my garden but I don't have anything blue.
You use it very well. I do like the bench painted black but it doesn't show up as well as it would bright yellow. Decisions, decisions.
I love how you incorporate crosses in your decor. I collect crosses myself. The more ornate the better.
Debbie, you are so talented at creative decorating! I am very impressed!! Your garden is as beautiful as your house!! Once I move (and I hope it's by summer), I will using lots of ideas from You! Thanks in advance! Have a great Sunday! Hugs, Coreen
I love your place and my suggestion pain the bench with neon yellow or bright yellow ^_^ Happy Sunday!

Love that little garden area in the back. Fabulous little place to relax by the fire!
What a beautiful make-over for the outdoor area. You have many wonderful and whimsical things, Debbie.
Hi Debbie...
Oooh...you have such a beautiful yard, my friend! I just seen so many places that I'd love to just sit and relax at!!! Love, love, LOVE all that beautiful blue!!! I think your pretty chairs look fabulous in the blue...back by your fireplace!!! What an awesome area...it just looks like it was made for fun!!! Your front porch...gorgeous! I really am loving all of those pretty pops of blue...BRAVO!!!
I just loved this post, Debbie! Thank you so much for sharing it with us today for Sunday Favorites...it was a real treat!!!
Hope you're having a fabulous weekend, Darlin'!

You've been busy! Are you as tired as the dog?!
You have a beautiful yard, Debbie. It looks so relaxing. I could just like down on the hammock by the firepit. Love all your garden accessories too...Christine
Such gorgeous garden you have Debbie!
Spice Up Your Life for MYM
You have a lovely house, Debbie, and since I love the color blue, I loved all your blue decorative elements. The birdhouse on the stand is adorable!
The woods look nice and cool! I'd love to sit my the fire and relax.
Thanks for your nice words about my photos...I've learned a lot through blogging.
I love all the pretty yellow sprinkled throughout your garden. And the lack of pristine is a good thing. Better for us to fit into nature than nature to be fitted to us.
1. Love your use of the word "haywire", I need to use it much more often. Such a fun word!
2. Love the blue even more - that is SO my style.
3. That vine, my friend, is a "Lady Banks" rose bush - blooms one time a year, only blooms on old wood, so the more you trim, the less bloom you will have next year, but it spreads out like wild fire. I have two of them - LOVE them, but hate how big they get! (At least thats what it looks like from the pictures -without a real close up of the flower, I can't tell... but if you google Lady Banks Yellow, you can see if the little cluster of open petaled roses match your flowers. Or just ask me, and I will send you pictures of mine, which I KNOW are Lady Banks.
Hugs!
Haha, sorry to be back again so soon - but I just zoomed in on it, really big - and that is indeed a Lady Banks. I saw an old one, maybe 30 years old or so, at the American Rose Garden, and it was 14 feet wide. Yes, 14 feet. I love them, but I'm also kinda scared of them, LOL. Mine is only 5 years old, LOL. G'nite!
LOVE that garden. Maybe I will post some photos of mine...when I clean it up...I was so used to city living in L.A. and where we live now it a whole different world...in the middle of a coastal forest...lots of trees, not that much property. The blue is FAB!
Wow, that looks gorgeous! I want a house just like it. I love your garden!
Thanks for stopping by my blog, feel free to come by anytime :-) I'm your newest follower, and I'm excited to read more of your blog
You have a very, very lovely house and garden :-) I died with envy!
Mellow Yellow
Looks awesome. Oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY sissy!
How wonderful darling. You have a gorgeous home and garden. Truly love everything you have done to your darden. The blue cross is one I would love to have in my garden. Sweetie, you been a constant source of inspiration to me with your beautiful photos. Enjoy your day.
Sending you and your lovely mum big hugs
Duchess
I'd love to live n a wooded setting, maybe for a vacation. I think I would be afraid of trees falling on my house. That just happened to someone I know, or else I probably wouldn't have thought of it.
What a beautiful piece of earth! I love the bottle opener!
Thank you for showing us your property. I think the blue pops as the decorators say. It gives the eye something to land on. You have some lovely displays and your cosy spot by the fire is just that cosy. Valerie
Debbie, You have a lovely garden and home!!! Fabulous! Thank you for sharing this beauty with us.
Beth
So much wonder, so much fun...love it all. I should ask my hubby is he would be okay with me painting all our old metal furniture with this gorgeous plum color I found. hmmm, you're inspiring me. I think that bench would be cool in yellow. But I love blues, purples, greens and yellow so much...but wow, wouldn't that just POP with joy!
Debbie, this is awesome! How do you do it all? You have been a busy painting momma! So did you use spray paint on all of your chairs?
You have a very beautiful yard and garden! I really love the colors and that bright blue is fabulous!
It really catches the eye and makes you notice all the cute little details of your gardens! Love this!
Hey it all looks great! I love the little black bench in front, but you are right, yellow would add a(nother) fun focus to your outside! Enjoy this "pretty" weather!
Wow wow wow You have a very nice place and big welcoming house. I love everything i see in your place. nice.
View mine here
Debbie, I think this may be the first time I have visited your blog...and I love it. What wonderful projects you have done. And of course who doesn't love a good spray paint project! I know I do. I love seeing patio and porch pictures too. I can't seem to get enough. I know in magazines they don'e really decorate porches too much and I love all the ideas you showed. Great great post.
Blessings,
Debbie
I'll be back I just became a follower!
Thank you for the inspiration! I am working on what to do with my little backyard space this year. I loved the two blue lounge chairs. The color really adds some spice.
-Angela
Omigosh, how beautiful! LOVE your blue Adirondack chairs! Could your mystery yellow vine be a Lady Banksia rose? Just a guess... Thanks so much for sharing your lovely garden at MM. :)
You have such a beautiful home! And the outdoor space is awesome. I can see why you love to spend time there. I especially love that birdhouse - so cute!
Happy Blue Monday from Joysweb
An outdoor fireplace is such a treat! I'm sure you spend many happy hours there, under the stars.
Amanda
hey deb!!
Love your pics.(garden, colors) bet you didn't think I was here. My girlfriend showed me how years ago and as you can see haven't updated in a while. P.S. there is a pic of all the boys on that bench in my office!!

Hi Debbie, your garden looks so pretty...Kathy
Hey Debbie your landscaping and gardens are looking BEAUTIFUL!! Love the vibrant blue accents! Martina
I love decorating outdoors, and I love what you've done here! I am thinking maybe that yellow flowered vine is actually a Lady Banks rose. It looks exactly like the one in my neighbor's yard, and I was with her when she purchased it a year or so ago. You've done an incredible job making your yard interesting and visually stimulating.
Brenda
wow Debbie you have such a nice place :) great job! :) do you have a spare time? Ill invite you in our garden so you could maybe turn ours into magical garden too? :)
u may view mine here
Deb! Sweetie, happy birthday! Hope your day is absolutely delightful :)
Hugs
Oh I love your rustic sitting area. I think I'd feel that I had gone on vacation just by sitting in that spot in the yard. Your new blues are so pretty. Blue and yellow are a fav color combination of mine, so I really loved all of this. laurie
there re so many lovely details that I could not pick my favorite, I do love the blue accents and the birdhouse is adorable! Tis looks like quite a large area, are neighbors close by? Thanks for stopping by and I will post photos of my little house soon, it's in the woods as well!
So fantastic! Love the pops of color and that great chalkboard on the wreath! I was just thinking how I need to make a "summery" one for our door! Thanks for the inspiration!
It all looks so inviting and welcoming!
So absolutely "kick my shoes off and drink a beer" beautiful!
I love the shots of blue...especially the cross.
One of my favorite parts is the arbor with the yellow Jasmine! All this space needs is me relaxing and sipping a glass of lemonade! hehe Looks like a little slice of heaven! Thanks for linking up to Anything Related!
