WhiMsy in the Garden.... and All OUr Hard work

This was last years rustic garden As you can see we live in a heavily wooded area.  It is constant work and forever a mess.  There is nothing pristine and clean about this area.  We do love it though and enjoy sitting out by the fire, doing smore's and just kicking back. This year I decided to bring a little more color and fun to the gardens and front of our home....so kick back and enjoy your outdoor tour and all the changes I made this year......
My husband made this bench for me a few years back. I painted my chairs this fun whimsy blue

This blue really is pretty, and I went a little hay wire as you can see coming up next

I also painted these chairs, they where Oak, and I painted and distressed them black

I recently made this cute whimsical wreath too, I actually saw one similar made here in blog land, I apologize for forgetting who, but if she sees it please let me know, so I may add her link I like to give credit where credit is due

My new Birthday present from my husband, I love it, he is so good!~ All my colors!

You pretty much know from the outside, how I decorate, as I bring the same theme and colors indoors

My Japanese Maple is just gorgeous this year.  We planted it three years ago, and it was a twig tree, It really likes where it is

This arbor my husband gave me last year for my Birthday,  I planted some Yellow Jasmine vine and it is really taking off.  I will get a better shot later on in the Season.
I found these guys at an antique store a couple of years ago....all three for 5.00, then I found the mushroom to go with them.
If you ever need a cold beer out by the fire, here is an odd opener...hey it works it's whimsy and has four eyes

This arbor is planted behind the blue chairs near the outdoor fireplace.  I am not sure of the name of the vine, but right now it has pretty yellow flowers on it, this is also near my kitchen window so when I look out I can see it

I love my copper Torches too, it looks cool at night when we light them

Oh look more blue what a surprise

This bench was red and became faded so I just painted in black last year, I am thinking maybe yellow this year...what do you think?

Hope you enjoyed your outdoor transformation tour as much as I did presenting it to you........
Great shadow shot here, boy am I tired!~

And in your spare time you do what exactly?!?

How do you manage to do all this? You have a beautiful home in a wonderful setting. Love the makeovers outdoors. I know trees can be a problem in so many ways but we live in a new development where no tree is taller than about 12 feet and everything still looks so new and I would love to have the view you do.

Just let me know when you start accepting commissions!

Wow, the entire outdoor decor and atmosphere is very nice. Anyone visiting would feel quite welcome. I know I did just taking this virtual tour. I love that rustic looking wood window on the front of the house, and as for me, I would leave the bench black....but what do I know.

The chairs and benches in every picture look so welcoming! My butt searches out for those first!

HOW Debbie? HOW? How do you do all of this? My head is posing all sorts of questions to me. How do you clean every part of your HUGE ESTATE every day?! The leaves on my plants are so dusty with the metro under construction, that i initially took the effort to spray each of them, now i just look and say, "You're used to that! Yes, you are!"

The husband sees to know exactly what you'd like. Fabulous taste for a man!

Your plants could land you first place in a gardening championship. I ope you already knew that!

Love your yard Debbie! I hope you are sitting by the fire this evening- it's been such a beautiful day! I love the adirondack chairs painted blue...they look great. That sitting area is wonderful. I also really like the pillow on the front porch. If you paint the bench in the front yard yellow it would really stand out --- if you don't like it you can always try a different color! Oh how fab! I like the job you did on the front porch rockers! I also really like your firepit area, we have a small metal pit but have been kicking around the idea to build one for awhile. Yours is really neat, the whole setting. But here's the crazy thing, I am most envious of those knomes elves and the deal you got. I have cement ones, but don't have colored ones and yours remind me of the vintage ones my grandparents had in thier yard. Soooo cute! You have a fun, happy yard! Love it!

1. Love your use of the word "haywire", I need to use it much more often. Such a fun word!

2. Love the blue even more - that is SO my style.

3. That vine, my friend, is a "Lady Banks" rose bush - blooms one time a year, only blooms on old wood, so the more you trim, the less bloom you will have next year, but it spreads out like wild fire. I have two of them - LOVE them, but hate how big they get! (At least thats what it looks like from the pictures -without a real close up of the flower, I can't tell... but if you google Lady Banks Yellow, you can see if the little cluster of open petaled roses match your flowers. Or just ask me, and I will send you pictures of mine, which I KNOW are Lady Banks.

Hugs!

Haha, sorry to be back again so soon - but I just zoomed in on it, really big - and that is indeed a Lady Banks. I saw an old one, maybe 30 years old or so, at the American Rose Garden, and it was 14 feet wide. Yes, 14 feet. I love them, but I'm also kinda scared of them, LOL. Mine is only 5 years old, LOL. G'nite!

So Debbie, when are you coming down here and making my yard look as good as yours? Mine is not very large at all so it would not take you long to work your magic and will give you plenty of time to hit the beaches!

Love the transformation and addition of whimsy to your yard.

I love your garden and home, too! And I can see why you like that color! It's so neat. Very whimsical. I like the way you sprayed the iron cross on the porch and also the chairs you have on the lawn. Everything looks so inviting. Great job.

Happy Porch Party and First Day of Summer. Looks like you've gotten a good start...

XO,

Sheila :-)
