You're so funny!
Oh how I LOVED getting those cancellation calls the NIGHT BEFORE - - - woooot! You can PLAN to sleep in.
It isn't just the LAUNDRY that is stinky with boys! From late grade school on - - - they just stink. While they sleep (yuck), when they come in from outdoors (yuck), and lets not even TALK about if they play sports - - - -
I had a friend who let her Jr. high son and his friend sleep in the family van for a week at camp - - - it NEVER smelled the same again.
Boy oh boy can I relate! What a great idea although my boys would argue that they are NOT stinky! =)

Girl, we got school cancellation too! Love the days of automated phone calls...but I so hope we do not lose power as we are getting ice right now....not snow...I have my fingers crossed! No power is no fun!
Love the hamper!

Lol this is so funny but so true!! :)

I know what you mean. Our son has always played a lot of sports, so he sweats a lot and you know that means stinky socks and just stinky clothes in general.
You know what I find stinky about boys? Their hair after they've been out playing. The first time I noticed it, I went around the house sniffing and saying "What smells like wet dog?" When I discovered it was my son's hair, I was appalled. I talked to several other mothers of boys too, and they all say that boy hair smells like wet dog after being outside playing. One said, "That's why I always call my son 'my little puppy.'" Another said, "Don't you remember boys being made of puppy dog tails? It's because that's what their hair smells like." Anyone else ever notice that?
LOL!!! I raised 4 boys and I know exactly what you are going though!!
Hugs,
Penny
RANDI, yes yes I have, I just thought Jack needed to wash his hair more often, then I noticed even the day he washed it, played outside, came in, it stunk again. They just stink! But we love em!
How funny! Now I know another reason I like you...you have BOYS! I have FOUR sons and they were very close in age! I had FOUR TEENAGERS at the same time! lol I remember when I had them start doing their own laundry! heehee! I think there's a special blessing for us moms that have ONLY boys! Mine are all grown now...and I sure do miss them...stinking laundry and all! Hugs! ♥
Debbie, cute idea. I think all kids stink once they step outside they get that weird smell.
Yes, yes, yes ... I only have one (unless we can count the hubby) and you hit the nail on the head. I need a sign warning people about his stinky room as well. UGH! jules
I giggled! Have a great "weather" day tomorrow.
Too cute, Debbie! What a great idea!! The snow must be hitting you 1st because we are supposed to get snow tomorrow night thru Wednesday! Brr...stay warm! I hope school is canceled over here too! XOXO ~Liz
P.S. Thank you for the nice comments on my last few post...you're the best! *smile*
This is so appropriate for boys! What a cute idea. Our schools are closed, too.
Blessings

Oh, Debbie Dear, you're a hoot! Oh, you're beginning to make me remember! Sometimes I would open my son's door to his room and would almost fall over! :0 I remember! That hamper is a hoot too! Enjoy your little stinky ones! :)
Be a sweetei,
Shelia ;)
Love your hamper idea and boy do I remember those days! Stay warm w and enjoy your wintery evening.
Gail
AMEN SISTER! I totally agree and sometimes it is hard for me to believe that I have a boy in my house old enough to have such stinky clothes but I do! Well, 2 of them counting my hubby! :-) This is such a cute idea and my son would actually think its hilarious and maybe the clothes would make it into the hamper more often!
Vanessa
Debbie, you have a great sense of humor. I bet your boys love it!
Enjoy your day with the kids at home tomorrow. As a teacher, snow days were always fun. ;-)

I don't have boys, but I do have a husband. I make him leave his stinky shoes out in the garage. I also have him leave anything else stinky in the laundry basket that's in the laundry room. I like my closet to smell fresh and clean. Can't stand it when it's stinky!
okay Deb...now you NEED to get hampers with lids for stinky boys...that's what I do!! hehe
patti
LOL! You are just so funny! Wait until they discover girls my friend, then it's a whole new kind of stinky. Because..then, they overdose on the cologne and bodywash! :)))
You are so funny, Debbie. I bet the boys are happy about the school being canceled. Stay warm and safe...Christine
My son is all grown up, but I remember not only did has clothes stink , his whole room stunk! Enjoy your snow day!
Carol
That is too funny! Jemma has no school tomorrow and the district is on a two hour time delay!!! Wooo hoooo!!! Sleeping late tomorrow!
I so know what you mean!! My son is in college now and he brought a HUGE amount of laundry home with him...not exactly sure how long it had been since he did laundry at school!!
Supposed to get snow here too...so hoping for a snow day from work!
Jane
amen sista!!!
Boy's just stink,my oldest is 26 and I met him and his wife for lunch today (it was 30 degrees and snowing) and he had his window down in the car.... I didn't event have to ask why, HAHA.
Too cute! I hope to be at the party on the 24th with my girls!
This had me laughing, Debbie...been there, done that...and now stinky little grandkids, too LOL
I so remember those days! My son's room always smelled like a gym or a boy's locker room. Yuck! No matter what I did, it was like a foreign area in the house.
Next, they become addicted to the shower and won't come out...after all the years of trying to get them in there. :-) My son would shower & do his hair...if it didn't look just right, he did it all over again. And yes, he used another towel each time...
You cannot fill them up either! I was a fanatic about having balanced meals with all the colored veggies, etc. I would just almost have the kitchen cleaned up and he would be back to make a sandwich...get chips & something to drink. Then, before bed, he would have dessert or ice cream.
They are precious and yes, we love them so much! :-)
Pat
Love This. Wish I had this when I was raising my crew. I always said "either we are the cleanest people in town or we are the dirtiest". I was always up to my A** in laundry. Hugs, Ginger
I literally did laundry everyday when the kids were home. Yes, stinky sports uniforms, clothing and my kids changed clothes about 5times a day! Now we hardly do laundry twice a week. I do miss them around, tho, but I am not sure I miss all that laundry :)
I love it! my son will be 21 a month from tomorrow! ugh! still can't believe that one! but my daughter plays basketball for her middle school. Yes, I love your laundry basket for your boys, I will be making one for my daughters sports/gym clothes. Too funny, Thank you for sharing!
I wonder what your boys' reaction was when they see that hamper!
You're very creative and fun..
I must say my middle son (19 in Feb.) always smells really good! His hair smells like gel and he smells like Axe bodywash. He's always been this way. My youngest one gets that musty smell when he's been bike riding.
Now, if you want to get knocked out, come and take a whiff of my husbands socks when he gets home from work!!! You can always line your hampers with those scented trash bags I guess:)
Girl, I can relate so much!!! I have 2 boys, 11 and 14. The smell gets me every time!!! I love that you put STINKY!!! So great.
I have 4 boys and they really do stink. I always walk around here saying boys are gross LOL...they know I'm kidding. But still...you know what I mean if you have a boy!
I have 3 boys and I agree!!! Stinky! Great idea :)
Deb,
I agree! I am a Mom of two boys too! And one older one ( hubby)! It does get easier when they move out. My older one still drops his laundry off for me to do so he does not have to pay to do his laundry. Hey, I am willing to do anything to keep them out on their own!!
LOL!!
Thanks for your visit and sweet comment!!
Hugs,
Debbie
Love it! What a clever idea. I wish I had thought of this when my boys were younger and I did their laundry. They're both back at home now and their laundry still stinks...only they have to deal with it.
I love the laundry basket! I'm glad I can't smell from here though. :D
That's such a cute idea!! I love funny sayings!!
Just wait, Debbie, for jr/sr high school sports (if they do that). My older boys played football 6 years each. You haven't experienced 'stinky' boys until they 'forget' to tell you where they put the football bags after the Friday night game. So you follow the grosses smell you can image until you find them. Seriously!! They had to leave them in the garage after that.. so both: I know where to get them on Saturday morning... and well, you know the other reason.
Hope that gives you more to look forward to Debbie! :-)
Too cute !! I am the mother of one little fella, who is almost 5. I can relate to the "stinky clothes," which is why my laundry basket (that has a chalkboard label on it), says "P-U"! lol
Debbie, how do boys get that smell penatrated into their clothes? I swear I need to boil their socks to get that smell out ;D
{{hugs}}
Carrie
EEEWWW! Being a mom of two boys I certainly can relate to this! After their showers I used to tease them to let me get all my hugs for the day right then and there! The day I taught them how to do their own laundry was a VERY good day and one I never regretted!
~ Tracy
Hey'all!
My dogs Sweepy and Sumo accept your invitation for the Pet Pawty on the 24th. As their Keeper, I need to know what is the doggy attire ;-) so I can properly dress them :-p and if ever, send their drooly self by eMail where, what and how? Sorry but I can't locate them on the sidebar ;-(
hey Debbie, I have a newbie question! I loved your hamper idea, although I don't have a small boy anymore. My daughter plays basketball in school and they can have some serious stinky laundry too! ok, back to my question. I too made a hamper ( I liked yours so much) mine is a little different. If someone wanted to post on their blog something that they did but was inspired by someone else of course you would want to give the original person credit for it, but do you need their permission to copy the idea and post it to their blog?
