Calling all MOM's of boys

I am betting you can relate to this post if you have boys....
I love my boys, but I am sorry, when I go to do their laundry, it is just plain OLE

So I decided to let them know it. I took their hamper, and I added BOYS STINKY CLOTHES!

So all you Mom's of boys, can you so relate to this?
Should I make one special for my husband too?
I am thinking I better not, he may not find it that amusing.
Has no school tomorrow? Just received the school cancellation notice... due to the weather they are expecting here. YAY! for me.
Joining Susan for her MM party.
Amaze me Monday
Make it for Monday

Oh how I LOVED getting those cancellation calls the NIGHT BEFORE - - - woooot! You can PLAN to sleep in.

It isn't just the LAUNDRY that is stinky with boys! From late grade school on - - - they just stink. While they sleep (yuck), when they come in from outdoors (yuck), and lets not even TALK about if they play sports - - - -

I had a friend who let her Jr. high son and his friend sleep in the family van for a week at camp - - - it NEVER smelled the same again.

I know what you mean. Our son has always played a lot of sports, so he sweats a lot and you know that means stinky socks and just stinky clothes in general.

You know what I find stinky about boys? Their hair after they've been out playing. The first time I noticed it, I went around the house sniffing and saying "What smells like wet dog?" When I discovered it was my son's hair, I was appalled. I talked to several other mothers of boys too, and they all say that boy hair smells like wet dog after being outside playing. One said, "That's why I always call my son 'my little puppy.'" Another said, "Don't you remember boys being made of puppy dog tails? It's because that's what their hair smells like." Anyone else ever notice that?

AMEN SISTER! I totally agree and sometimes it is hard for me to believe that I have a boy in my house old enough to have such stinky clothes but I do! Well, 2 of them counting my hubby! :-) This is such a cute idea and my son would actually think its hilarious and maybe the clothes would make it into the hamper more often!

I don't have boys, but I do have a husband. I make him leave his stinky shoes out in the garage. I also have him leave anything else stinky in the laundry basket that's in the laundry room. I like my closet to smell fresh and clean. Can't stand it when it's stinky!

I so remember those days! My son's room always smelled like a gym or a boy's locker room. Yuck! No matter what I did, it was like a foreign area in the house.

Next, they become addicted to the shower and won't come out...after all the years of trying to get them in there. :-) My son would shower & do his hair...if it didn't look just right, he did it all over again. And yes, he used another towel each time...

You cannot fill them up either! I was a fanatic about having balanced meals with all the colored veggies, etc. I would just almost have the kitchen cleaned up and he would be back to make a sandwich...get chips & something to drink. Then, before bed, he would have dessert or ice cream.

They are precious and yes, we love them so much! :-)

I literally did laundry everyday when the kids were home. Yes, stinky sports uniforms, clothing and my kids changed clothes about 5times a day! Now we hardly do laundry twice a week. I do miss them around, tho, but I am not sure I miss all that laundry :)

I must say my middle son (19 in Feb.) always smells really good! His hair smells like gel and he smells like Axe bodywash. He's always been this way. My youngest one gets that musty smell when he's been bike riding.

Now, if you want to get knocked out, come and take a whiff of my husbands socks when he gets home from work!!! You can always line your hampers with those scented trash bags I guess:)

Deb,
I agree! I am a Mom of two boys too! And one older one ( hubby)! It does get easier when they move out. My older one still drops his laundry off for me to do so he does not have to pay to do his laundry. Hey, I am willing to do anything to keep them out on their own!!

LOL!!

Thanks for your visit and sweet comment!!

Hugs,
Debbie

Just wait, Debbie, for jr/sr high school sports (if they do that). My older boys played football 6 years each. You haven't experienced 'stinky' boys until they 'forget' to tell you where they put the football bags after the Friday night game. So you follow the grosses smell you can image until you find them. Seriously!! They had to leave them in the garage after that.. so both: I know where to get them on Saturday morning... and well, you know the other reason.

Hope that gives you more to look forward to Debbie! :-)

EEEWWW! Being a mom of two boys I certainly can relate to this! After their showers I used to tease them to let me get all my hugs for the day right then and there! The day I taught them how to do their own laundry was a VERY good day and one I never regretted!

hey Debbie, I have a newbie question! I loved your hamper idea, although I don't have a small boy anymore. My daughter plays basketball in school and they can have some serious stinky laundry too! ok, back to my question. I too made a hamper ( I liked yours so much) mine is a little different. If someone wanted to post on their blog something that they did but was inspired by someone else of course you would want to give the original person credit for it, but do you need their permission to copy the idea and post it to their blog?
