Mike and I are going antiquing today! YAY...I love when he is off and he wants go do something fun that we both enjoy.
Have you girls seen the recent Ballard catalog?
I spied this cool dog food container, but for 59.00 plus tax and shipping,
No way Josey'!
So I decided I would make my own!
This white one was my original inspiration...
Started with a paint tub...cheap like 5.00!
Primed it first, because my first intention was to make a pretty pale lemon color.
First FLOP, it looked terrible.
So I had some chalk board paint on hand...
Ok that is looking a bit better...
Well I think I went overboard now...I could not just have DOG food on it...
Even Lucy looks a bit confused...Now whatcha doing Mom?
Back to her original vignette.
The painting was a gift from a friend..I miss her, she had to move back to Germany, but I have this special piece made with love from her.
XO

Don't consider it a flop, it's training grounds for the great metal bucket you are going to find today :)

I think you did a great job, Debbie! $59 for a dog food container? Sheesh, that's crazy!

Your "flop" is cute! Hope you have fun antiquing! We are in Chicago, so I hope you enjoy the warm weather! So sad to have gone out of town when we were going to have good weather!
well....you tried, right :) Good Luck! Have a wonderful day!
I thought it looked really nice and black like Lucy. Such a fun time reading your posts.
I don't think it's a flop, it looks great! I've seen dog food buckets at TJ & Home Goods, they are less than Ballards! Have a great weekend! ~Marcy
I like it. I think it looks fabulous. Have fun antiqueing. Hug, Marty
That little print is adoarble! I love how you hung it down at doggy eye level! And your project turned out cute after all.

I like it too...I don't think it's a flop, looks cute!
Have fun today (I'm jealous, as we don't have any antiquish stores around here)!
i love it it looks better then the ones that cost so much money and i love how you just happen to have chalk board paint on hand thats my girl lol:)
First of all ~ I can't imagine you flopping at anything you do. Secondly ~ that can is just adorable and Ballard's should be contacting you to buy your idea. Thirdly ~ I get that "Whatcha doin' Mom" look all the time from Bentley ... AND I get it from my hubby too! Have fun on your antique hunting trip. You are lucky that your hubby shares your passion.
Love,
Susan and Bentley

Lucy is soo adorable! And I love her portrait hanging over her "dinner table".. to cute!
xoxo,
Ellen
Very cute, Debbie, and I love your Lucy painting...Christine
Just what is your definition of flop woman?! That is so cute! And I love Lucy's area~ a place just for her. Sweet.
Bwahahahahahaha! I could almost hear the, "Baroooo?" in Lucy's voice! She's so cute! And seriously, I think your knock off container was not only cute, but had more character.
Very cute Deb. But what's even cuter is how you incorporated a vignette in Lucy's little space. My oldest daughter was standing behind me when I was looking at this and went nuts when she saw Lucy!! Have a great weekend, Martina
This is a great creation!!
Your pug is adorable! My German Shepherd goes on hikes with a trainer and a pack of dogs...the one dog is a tiny pug!!! So adorable to see these huge dogs and little pug hiking the mountain!
I didn't know you are Italian? So am I!
I made a typo in my recipe. Thank goodness a kind blogger emailed me about it. I typed 14tsp of sugar (yikes)instead it should be 1/4 tsp! I have adjusted the post!!

Hey Debbie! I love that you keep on trying. Making mistakes are just part of the process and I need to remember that. Thanks for reminding us!
~Crystal
Well I think it is not half that bad. It is good to show we are all human and things don't always turn out as we plan. sometimes we have a vision and when it doesn't look like our vision we think it is a flop. I happen to like what you have done with a paint bucket. take care
Caroline
What a cool idea to make the pet food into a decorative feature! And just after I bought boring, plastic, wheeled bins for ours... thanks for sharing this.
This isn't a flop; I think it's cute and Lucy is adorable too. Hope you have fun antiquing! Peggy
Debbie, I love how you hung Lucy's portrait at her eye level- great idea. Your food container came out cute.
Danielle
Lucy is too cute for words!! I could just squeeze her! I love her little eating area. I can tell she's loved :)
I think your bucket turned out cute! Maybe not exactly what you thought it would be, but it's still fun.
I kept waiting for the flop?? Looks great to me! Looks like Lucy loves it!
Carol
This is very cute dog food container! You inspired me, i wanna make one for Roy too!!
That's so fun! Love it!
I think that turned out really cute, Debbie! I keep wondering where the "flop" was, too! I really love your Lucy...she is just too cute!
I saw those in the catalog, you did a great job!!!
Lucy surely doesn't eat a ton of food at each feeding, so this humongous food can would be able to hold enough of her food for months! LOL
I think it's cute, Debbie- so where did it go? It didn't get relegated to "re-do land" did it? What was the flop?
Love her special dining space....
That looks pretty good for a flop. I love the portrait above her bowl! Stopping by from http://itsybitsypaper.blogspot.com
