Let there be light {bhg lamps}

I seem to be on a roll lately with Better homes and gardens brand.
I see a lot of gals like to have little lights on the counter.
I have never really done that, however, I do think it looks pretty cute.
So I scored this little one for I believe $5.97 and thought I would come up with something cute.

I could not leave it black though.
I painted it with some smidge of Annie sloan chalk paint provence blue that I have left.

ahh...yes much better!

If you have never used these flickering light bulbs, I would suggest you do.
My Mom turned us on to them years ago.
they give off a nice ambiance.
I decided not to put a shade on this little gal and leave her as is.

At night it looks cute too.

And there you have a very quick, cheap project.
I like having a light on the counter too.

Info on the flicker light bulb
HERE
and yes, the bulb was almost as much as the lamp.
However, they last a long time and look super.

One more thing before you go...today I am guest posting over at Mary's of HOPE filled living.
If you would like to read about my Holiday tradition..hop on over and check it out.
HERE
P.S.
I have not been compensated for the praise of these bulbs...you can thank my Mom!

I love the blue on the lamp..or green/blue...or is it green? Anyway, I love it- I would have probably painted the bulb holder part, too, although I'm sure there are all kinds of hazard warnings against THAT! I use those little flickering bulbs, too. The best part is that because they use so little electricity they last forever! xo Diana

Debbie, what a cute lamp! I remember those bulbs from when I was growing up! Some people even used them in their lanterns, next to the front door. I didn't know that they still made those bulbs! Very cute!!

Amazing how a little bit of paint changes a look. It reminds me of weathered copper. Such a cute size too!

I love lamps in the kitchen. I guess it just adds the perfect amount of soft light in there when you don't need to cook or clean. Those flickering light bulbs are neat! I've seen them before in a chandelier and thought they reminded me of the old fashioned light fixtures.

I like a lamp on the counter too. Somehow it signals the end of the day when I turn that light on after the kitchen is cleaned from dinner.

I have the flickering light bulb in my front yard light post. It's really pretty at night and looks cool with my English Tudor style home.

Your lamp looks so pretty painted blue.

First time visiting-LOVE the lamp! I have used those bulbs (officially called Flicker Flame Bulbs) since the 80's when the trend was to have candles in all of your windows. I actually stopped at a house that had these because I never saw a bulb that looked like fire and I was wondering how she could have a flame that close to the curtains! I also join the ranks of a little lamp in the kitchen...but I am considering putting in low voltage under cabinet lighting.
