Did you know my husband is an interior designer? {Gallery wall decorating}
But did you know my husband likes to have a say in decorating the house? Yes, he does and he created a fabulous Gallery wall to call his own.
Let's take a look at my husband's skills, shall we?
Now let's see Mike's picks.
Oh I must add, I told him a budget. No more than $200.00 Total for everything.
It was a good budget, but considering we wanted to make a statement, I had to up my usual dollar tree art work. After all, he is the one who brings home the bacon, he should be able to splurge ONCE in a while.
Mike will LOVE to read your comments, so carry on, rave, tell him how cool he is:)
Now that I showed you this, next week I can show you the entertainment center tweaks that I did.

wow, great job, that man has great taste, I'm intrigued by those prints as well, the mix of textures is what makes this wall sing, beautiful
MIKE!!!! YOU ROCK!!!! Come do my living room wall!
Love the mix of items and the composition!
A very unique collection. It is masculine, but with the color and texture it blends into the decor. A job well done, Mr. Mike.
applause applause for Mike~! he did a great job..
I may have found the person I will next copy cat- designerMike
So lovely and warm. That light! What a find :-)
Watch out Nate Berkus....a new decorator in the making!!
Great job!!
He sure does have it. Love that he has a sense of color too. Most, hubbies are dull, but not your Mike just the right punch to make it a treasured corner. Watch out, he is going to give you a run for your money....he-he...
I know he is, I may have to start calling my blog Mikeydoos!
How great! Mikeydoo's...that's funny! Give him a regular feature.....see if he can do it under pressure....like the rest of us! Hahaha...that will separate the men from the boys...LOL Andrea at Cottage Market features her husband's thrift store finds and calls it Joe's Junkin'.....it's really nice...Mikey can do it!!
BTW thanks for the tip on the blog designer...I think I'm ready. Love the new look!
Lorraine
I'm really pondering my comment....
I could go with a smart azz remark about the erected wall plaque, but I won't.... I could ask for shirtless photos of a buff man pounding in nails.... but I won't.... so guess all I can say is I'm most impressed that a control freak could relinquish control. Lucky for you Mike it turned out good. Debbie is a better woman than I, I can't say I could do that!
~Bliss~
Bliss, the man is buff, I don't want to get you women all excited over that though:)!
Great Job...mike..i love it when the hubby gets in on what your doing..my husband likes to get in on stuff as well...i just haven't been up to much lately..being we are still planning our move a vacation and finally finished the car hunt !! whew !! i think mikeydoo's would be fabulous...lmao !!! have a gteat day...
I think he did a great job. I love the artwork. It's so unique. (Also, is that the table you wanted to get rid of?)
Still loving the new blog design.
Tell Mike to wait by the phone... I am sure HGTV will be calling any minute ;) He did good. I think you should keep him!
Wow, he did a great job. I love the old unique items. Those make that grouping so much more interesting. I love your old pharmacy light, too.
you need to hire him out, Debbie. funny thing. this is what I've been working on the last couple of days; a gallery wall. it's harder than it looks! great job!!
He did nail it. It has lots of texture and color. My husband does almost all of our arranging as he just sees spaces and has good spacial reasoning skills and I lack them. Love that old lamp. Great with the live ivy in there too.
Mike , your gallery wall really looks nice. You and Debbie sure are the perfect match! You both have similar tastes in decorating and it works beautifully. I love hearing stories when you two go antiquity together -That is my one wish that my husband would be interested in going on the "hunt" :-) Have Debbie post you making a great dinner to have when guest are coming over .
Brilliant job! Well done, Mike, and it is great that is has a meaning and an interest to him.
Guess what. My husband really is an Interior Designer, it leads to some interesting differences of opinion, lol.
Beautiful, absolutely beautiful job Mike! Such a gorgeous montage and how beautifully displayed! Would love to see Mike doing more posts! He does an excellent job! The texture in the pictures and the frames itself add so much to the entire effect on the wall. And I simply love love love that mirror, love that tile work framed in the bronze metal, it is just too perfect for this entire gallery and the gorgeous vignette on the table. Love the embellishments on the pretty candles:) Thanks Debbie and Mike! I needed this inspiration. Reminds me so much of a beautiful Spanish hacienda. Have a great weekend!Poppy

Wow! super job, Mike! How blessed you are Debbie. To have a hubby with an eye for design. If I let my hubby decorate a wall, it would be filled with dead animal heads, and gun calendars.
xxoo
Mike you did a great job! I think it is great when the husband takes an interest in making the home look nice.
Way to go hubby!!! If Kyran ever feels inspired he can put together a cherub vignette for me:)
I may steal one of your photo's later on today, if that's ok...I'm needing some inspiration for my large mirror and I was thinking something like what you did with your glass shower doors:)
Debbie, tell hubby I am so envious. He is a great designer. Sure enjoyed seeing thing from a mans view. Lovely post.
Debbie, Mike did a great job!! My husband usually likes to have some say too. :)
Mike you did an awesome job!!
Good job Mike! He could start his own blog...

Wow!! This is beautiful, it has a vintage look? My hubby also likes to have a say in the decor, but only a say :)
Debbie, I am actually stopping by from another site that I saw your blog hop party badge on. :)
I would like to invite you over to my site, where I am hosting a Blog Hop Link Up. The link up is for current-reoccurring blog hops and I noticed you host your own hop and would love to have yours on my linky. I will later add all "hops" linked up, on a "Featured Blog Hop" page. It would be a pleasure to have your newbie party hop added.

Thanks
Debbie ( yes another debbie :) )
btw: new follower, tweeter, sharer of your blog! :)
It's so nice to see a husband involved!! Nice job Mike!!!
Love the mirror!
Hi Debbie, Mike did a great job! It is very unique and something to be proud of. My hubby doesn't have much say on the inside of the house, but he does tell me what he doesn't like just to aggrivate me! lol...sometimes he has nice things to say I guess. =) He likes doing outdoor projects and pretty much leaves the inside to me. Kristen
This looks terrific! Balance, texture, color, shape and very interesting, personal stuff. Mike obviously has an eye for space and detail. Lucky you!
Hats off to Mike, what a great job. Congrats on the new blog design, very pretty!
~Tami
Mike did a great job, Debbie! I love the framed prints and that plaque looks very interesting. You better watch out though ~ Mike might decide to tackle other areas! : )
Mike did goooood!! Love the grouping and love the new lamp!!
A truly wonderful job Mike! I like the height created above the mirror giving it a 2nd tier! Lots of interest here with the old fashioned reading lamp, candle holders, books and the fabric runner. Your choice of pictures and plaques on the wall are very interesting- gives a person something to stare at and study! Great job indeed!
Mike... you are awesome! That looks great and fits in so beautifully with your home. Great job!
Gallery walls are tough to do...I give Mike a lot of credit. My hubby like to shop and hang out with me, too, but I don't think he could hang a picture straight! ;-D
XO,
Jane
Great job...My hubby has free reign in his man cave bonus room...Actually he does a great job..
Kudos to Mike!
Awesome job Mike!!! Very attractive and manly job.

Mike, I knew you were the "man". Great job. I love the "foresters" art. So neat and how appropriate is the pharmacy light?
Love all of you guys,
Ginger
He did a GREAT job...MyHero would be going, "What? Do WHAT?" Yep...your man has it going on! xo Diana
Mike you totally ROCKED that gallery wall. Dude - you've got serious decorating skillz!! I'm truly impressed, and hey, if you ever get tired of that Debbie person, come on over to Jersey. Jersey Girls are the bomb-diggity!! LOL
Mike rocks the casba. The wall is interesting and has a lot of texture and both your vintage eclectic taste shows. hugs, olive
I did get the idea that he had an in on decorating as you had mentioned his involvement in the past. Ok, lets get to the good part....OMG you are the best decorator, your taste is impeccable and original and you are hot to boot...Except when you wear those bright plaid shorts... Then not so much!
XXOO Carol
Great job on the wall gallery. I am pinning it! It's great when your husband is good at decorating too.
Debbie,
Mike did a really great job. I bet you're proud of him! I think it's neat when a fella takes an interest in decorating. Good for him!
Nancy
This is totally awesome.....he has a great eye.
Oh Mike did a super job! It looks great.
Maybe you should rent him out?
Mike did a great job Debbie!
Beautiful job! My husband also likes to have a say on how we decorate the house, so I am showing him these pictures as soon as I post this comment. Mike did an awesome job with that wall. We have those large walls in our home too and I have to say, they are not easy to decorate!
I love the colors on the pictures and they look amazing with the mirror. Mike, job well done!
Very, very nice! My husband likes to decorate, too.
Great blog redesign. Clear, sharp, good arrangement. Love your header. Your husband has a very good eye for design. Thanks for sharing.
Wow! Great job!! Love what he did!
Beautiful job - be careful - he may take over your blog next, lol
First the monks, now the gallery wall... Mike, you've got skills! When are you going to start blogging? :)
Careful now Lady, you know what they say. If you give a man an inch, they will take a mile! Better not let him see too many of these comments or you will have to rename your blog; Debbiedoesn't but Mikeydoo's! LOL! Just kidding! I've kinda picked up already that he has quite the eye. I really am quite intrigued by the I.O.O.F Rest Cottage under the auspice of Noble Grands???? I also like the art work done on the order posters. Interesting and unique pieces for sure! Nice arrangement too! :)
Interesting art and well displayed.
Way to go Mike !!!
Audrey Z.
This is a beautiful gallery wall with lots of one-of-a-kind interesting pieces! Great job!
Beautiful job with lots of interesting pieces. You should be so proud!
Love the IOOF plaque. The Independent Order of Odd Fellows was very big here in 1960's.
He is a keeper for sure, Debbie! Everything looks great and fantastic together.
He is definitely soooooo cool!! :-) I think I had figured out by now that the two of you make a fantastic decorating team. It is so neat to hear about how he takes an interest in working with you to create such a beautiful home and his gallery wall looks fantastic! Thanks for sharing this at Inspiration Friday Debbie~
Vanessa
Debbie and MIKE!
This is a fantastic grouping and love all the shapes and sizes you used in your symmetrical layout/design.
The framed artwork certificates are so great. I love the old graphics and colors... the details! They are like old Valentine's to me. I think the old graphics are soooo much better from the past, that is one thing that has not gotten better as the years have gone by, in my opinion!
Terrific! Love it! Looks amazing!
xox
Alison
I love it. It reminds me of one of those spots in your home that everytime you walk by it you smile!
Maybe Mike needs to start a decorating blog for men-I am sure there are men living alone that need to spruce up their place. He can call it Real Men Can Decorate! I love the mixture of items he chose.
What a fascinating selection for the gallery pieces! He really does have good taste. I imagine a visitor to your home would love to just stand there a while and soak it all in--I know I would! Debbie, your photo is stunning the way you chose the right moment when the sun was shining strategically onto the focal point--the mirror. I'd say you are BOTH extremely talented designers!
Debbie, I'm behind in my comments to your wonderful blog, but I just had comment on this exciting gallery wall your husband created.
One of the things of truly love about your home is that is represents things that mean so much to the family not just items from a design book.
I don't know much about either of the groups featured in the pieces, but I'm proud to say that during my visit to Florida last month, my son was installed as the Worshipful Master at his Masonic Lodge - a very proud moment for this mom I can tell you!
Love what Mike created! Thanks for sharing these unique pieces.

Mike did a fantastic job. I love his wall grouping. I think it's wonderful when men take an interest in the home. To me it means they care a lot about their home and family.
