Have you ever wished at a certain moment that  time could stop?
Have you ever really reflected on  a "time"?
We have to wake up at a certain time everyday,
we go to bed at a certain time (most of the time)
We eat Breakfast, lunch and Dinner at a certain time.
Time pretty much runs our lives.
I have noticed a lot of decorating books are featuring clocks, all kinds,
Mike and I have collected some
cool clocks in the past years.
Some have history, and meaning
and others just are cool to us.
Do you have a special clock?
Do you like the look of the wall clock collection that seems to be a new trend?
I am also featuring a cooku clock....my grandfather had one, and every day at the
same time he would pull on the strings to rewind it.
He adored that clock, and there is a time, and moment, I wish I could have back.
I always have that fond memory though!!~ So tell me a clock story!
and what it means?
Since the moment we where born, our lives revolve around time

Here are my clock collections below................
This clock here is called the Granddaughter clock.
We found it at a local antique shop.
It is smaller in size as you see than the Grandfather clock.
The most interesting thing about this clock is
it was given to a fellow when he retired in the 1900's.
Apparently, it did not mean much to his family.
We looked up his place of retirement and there
was a lot of cool history on it.
It chimes on the half hour and hour, at first it was annoying,
now I love it, and can't imagine not having it.

We have some very cool clocks, we have at least 4 wind up clocks. We have 2 Seth Thomas, Waterbury, and a Engrimham. I like the fact that you must make a n effort to wind them at least twice a week. I think that it is important to have those kind of rituals.

Debbie, I love clocks. When the doctor told me that I would have my first child before Father's day, I went out & bought my husband a clock ... so that when he looked at it he would remember that time flies & our child would grow up quickly.
Love your clock collection. Have you been to the Clock Shop in Waxhaw? I love going there because they have some fabulous clocks. It should be a museum & they should charge admission!

I have a thing for clocks and watches. I have several watches in a drawer that need new batteries and then I have two good watches I wear most of the time. I like my big clock in the breakfast room and I have a vintage looking clock in the sunroom which I still need to move up and hour.

One of our most valued possessions is a grandfather clock that we had built in the Black Forest of Germany and brought home with us. It was our "we survived living in Germany" gift to ourselves! I love to hear it chime. It is just a beauty!

You really have quite the collection of time. Those pieces are very eye catching. It doesn't fit in with the fanciness of these....but my two favorite clocks have baseball themes.

Girl...you have waaay too much TIME on your hands. hehe

I have one working Grandfather clock that I forget to wind most of the time. I have another Grandfather clock and mantel clock that belonged to my great uncle...both need a clock doctor. Both of them worked about 10 yrs. ago and poof...something happened. Thanks for sharing. You did some fancy photoshopping stuff. I need to learn how to do that. Too bad you are sooo far away.

All i can manage to say is- i'm amazed.

I would've understood if you'd said these were pictures off the internet or from a museum or from a store- you actually have all those in your home?! WOW.

Beautiful clocks. The grandfather clock takes the cake! (that used to be on my childhood wish-list!)

Bonjour Debbie,

Very nice pictures of clocks. I have a grandfather clock that my father gave to me a few years ago. My dad passed away and I had to put it somewhere else so that I did not see it or hear it. Perhaps now is a good time to re-introduce it back in the home.

Ha! My grandma had a(well a couple) cuckoo clock and my cousin and I would take turns winding it. I have actually been semi-looking for one. It was so much fun to watch the cukoo come out, I'd still enjoy that. Also, my great grandma had a Felix the Cat clock. It's tail would swing one way and it's eyes would go the other. I have been kind of looking for one of those too. As for me, my favorite clock at my house is from Hobby Lobby, with a French look. Debbie have you met my husband at Watch Addicts meetings?lol

Hi Debbie,

I have a Lenox clock similar to yours. Your post reminds me of a clock my Grandfather had from Germany. It had the little bird that would pop out and looked a lot like the one in your post. I also have a Waterford clock but other than that, I just rely on watches.

Your commercial is soooooooo cool! I can say I know a blogging celebrity.

I love what you did with the photos of your clocks! Very nice.

There are certainly a lot of clocks in my house, but the most special is the one we gave my in-laws on their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married for 67 1/2 years. They've both passed now and we inherited the clock. I just love it.

These clocks are awesome. We live nearby to a clock museum, which I toured recently. They are really interesting in design and history. I just love the list of songs with the word time in them.
