Christmas in the kitchen
I have only shown you my dinette area and some snippets of the kitchen. Again keeping it all simple this year. I tend to over do it sometimes, and then I get sick of the clutter I feel we have. So far so good this year, I am loving it!
I found this wooden snowman last year at Marshalls, thought it was perfect for behind the stove area. I added a string of beads, and added a few snowflakes to the string. |
This cider canister we found in October at an antique store. It is not that old, but we loved it! And for $12.00 how could you go wrong? |
These books displayed I bought at Goodwill a couple of weeks ago, for a buck a piece. |
Simple lime green balls, a few glitz and some glam of beads |
I was going to add some live greenery to the top of the cabinets. As you see I really do not decorate on top. To me it is way too cluttered to have decor up there. At one time in my life, I would have them jammed packed with all my tea cups and pot collections. I have two sets up there now, and I do change those out per season. I can't handle dusting all the time up there. Not to mention, it is not that easy up and down on a ladder. Safety is no accident is my MOTTO! It is all looking mighty cheery and festive in there. Love the snowman head!
I love your snow man over your stove!
I was just in the Dollar Store yesterday and there we're small versions of this painted on disc of wood (logs slices,he-he-he) so cute, for $1.00. I didn't buy any, but thought to myself-- I could make some of those! It never occured to make a large one--on the favorite bead board, no less! Love your kitchen.
I see no clutter there!
Love your Marshalls snowman...didn't see that little guy when I was there...
funny how we all love Marshalls.
Your home looks very festive and emaculate!
Merriest Christmas to you and Yours,
Kathy @
Sweet Up-North Mornings...
I love your kitchen and breakfast area, and all of your kitchen Christmas decor is just perfect. I tend to clutter things up too much and then like you, I am so tired of it. Yours is just perfect. Hugs, Marty
It looks great and very festive! The snowman over the stove is my fav piece in there!

I fully intended to simplify my decorations this year, but it so didn't happen!

Just perfectly lovely. Very cute snowman.
And just wait until I post my kitchen.... very cluttered, as I put all my Dept. 56 village houses above the cabinets...
Love how yours is so bright & clean : )
Your room is just beautiful, Debbie~ I just love it! Such a fun snowman head, the cider canister is too wonderful, and I love the way the beaded garland looks ice covered...so pretty!
You have definitely been decking the halls! It looks gorgeous at your house!
Your holiday kitchen is adorable, just like you! I'm supposed to be getting ready for church but instead, here I am, on your blog :) No wonder I'm always running late.
Geeze, I'm going to have to join a recovery group soon. Walk away from the awesome blog, just walk away....
Your home looks so nice and festive --very inviting -I like that you added some "galm" to the snowman and even to the Christmas balls --On the counter I believe you have bottles in a bowl too -right? is there a story behind them?
Your home is lovely

Hi Debbie!
love that snowman sign and the cider jar! Everything looks so cheerful!
Love your kitchen and the simplicity of it. Mine is so cluttered and jumbled with stuff, I can't find a spot to put anything. Have a great week!

Sherry
Looks pretty and festive!
Debbie, I love your kitchen. It looks very familiar. One of my Daughters has your island light over her sink. I have the same tile design on my backsplash and the same configuration as your stove over my sink. I knew we were kindred spirits.
Love the simple Christmas decor. it leaves more room and eating. I have always loved your breakfast area. It looks happy. Merry Christmas, Ginger
love the Snowman!!! I too agree with you about cleaning up at the top. I believe when I get to design mine - there will be glass doors at the top for showcasing stuff. Less dust!
Everything looks great Debbie! I love your idea of putting the soap in a wine bottle, what did you use for the top part?
I laughed at your comment to me about playing in Picnik, now that I have my new computer it's so fast!!! I even turned my husband into Santa Claus in there:)
This is simply delightful....love the cider canister on a stack of book - adds just the right pop of color. Everything looks wonderful as usual!
Oh Debbie your kitchen looks beautiful all decked out for Christmas. I love your snowman! Thanks for sharing your home for Christmas with all of us.
Enjoy your evening,
Gail
Your kitchen is so cheery! I love all the little touches like the snowflakes. I really like the snowman and would love to steal the cider canister!!! That is so cool!
I like the bowl full of emptly soda bottles.
I see LOTS of things to love in your pictures, but my absolute FAVORITE is that cider spouted dispense!!! That is awesome.
AH!! You finally wrote something about dusting! I have now started to believe that you are indeed human!
That wooden snowman is a killer piece! It looks awesome!!
The books for 1 buck each?? I am intrigued. My sister threw out all my fairy tale books from childhood. I am still pissed about that. You've given me hope of finding replacements for myself now!! That alone make my day happier! Yayy! ((hug))
Everything looks so nice-your home is beautiful!
Your kitchen looks wonderful! I love your snowman picture and your beautiful red drink dispenser. That is really nice! You are correct my friend I totally love Christmas! I love how you can look around dozens of homes and every ones decor is so different but all sooo appropiate for the season! It's all fantastic to me! I just love that once a year so many people from all walks of life do something to "decorate" for Christmas! I get such a kick out of it all. I love to ride around in the car looking at all the house decorated differently and I am the crazy one that actually even loved the strange leg lamp in "The Christmas Story" too. LOL! :))
Looks great Debbie!! I love that cider crock! And you know I love simple, so this to me looks terrific, little touches here and there!
Love it all! Very festive, but still simple. Do you use the cider crock? And....never knew there were people out there who actually dusted on top of their kitchen cabinets! ;)
Debbie,
Loving that snowman! (love Marshall's too!) A am trying to avoid the clutter this year, too. It is hard when I always seem to find something I love on each shopping trip! Your kitchen looks simply beautiful!
Wendy
Its very nice. Simple uncluttered and yet says alot. Nice !
Very nice. Not to overly done, just right and with enough festiveness to enjoy :)
I love your snowman! He is so cute. Your kitchen looks great. Merry Christmas!
I love the snowman and the lime green glitz and glam!
It's looking pretty Christmas-y to me, Debbie. I think that snowman face is pretty cute..he looks like he was made out of beadboard.
I thought at first that we had the same granite countertops but yours has a bit more movement in it than mine does...same color though. I love the corner sink..I had one at one of my houses too and loved it.
I like what you've done-it is simple and pretty. Hugs-Diana
Very, very pretty. I love the lime green!!
Debbie, I love the snowman! You found the perfect place for him! Your kitchen looks festive, but not cluttered! It looks great!
It all looks so pretty. Not like someone has thrown up Christmas all over your kitchen (ie, my house). I think I may have to reverse decorate and put some items back in storage boxes. Love the snowman!
Oh I LOVE your kitchen! The decorations are just perfect! Thanks so much for stopping by!
Very pretty, Debbie! So far this year, I have been so busy that Christmas hasn't moved much farther than the family room! And that is SO NOT like me!
You've done such a great job with your Christmas decor!
I'm with Sonya, I have only done my living room with decorations, and sprinkles here and there in the rest of the house, Your house is so cheery, I love the cider jug, I would have snapped that up!!!
Carol

It all looks so pretty! I love your wooden snowman. Too cute.
I know what you mean about overdoing it. I overdecorate every year & right now, I'm suffocating in all this "stuff!"
Hi Debbie! I love all your creativity with your kitchen decorating. What an awesome canister that is! Love the lime ornaments under glass. It's all just perfect! Last year I did the greens above my cupboards with lights, but not this year.
I'm sorry I haven't stopped by lately. I thought you were still on a bloggy break. :(
Thanks for coming by to see me! :)
Donna
that snowman is perfect right there, and i think it would be really easy to make one, too. it looks like beadboard. love the book vignette!
Debbie, I got my suitcase back, but someone had been through everything YEWWWW even my dirty underwear bag! Everything was there, I suppose they were looking for jewelry or elctronics.
Carol
very creative....specially the way you arranged the books and the cute tap...
Hi Debbie~ your kitchen is looking quite Christmasy and beautiful~ I love your trees behind your sink and the soap dispenser is too cute! I might have to make one of those for my dad for Christmas~ he LOVES wine. Did you have to buy a special soap pump to fit the wine bottle or anything to make that work?
Hello Debbie,
I love the wooden snowman and your cider dispenser. You know what they say, "Less is more." Your decorations look great and I love your kitchen and dining nook. I finally managed to get some of my rooms decorated this past weekend and will share them later this week.
~ Tracy
