Cow home decor and rustic wood!

Recently when we went to the Homerama tour, I noticed an ongoing trend.
Cow home decor and rustic wood furnishings.
I have to say, I really love them both.
However, I certainly can't start with a whole new collection, and getting rid of my Roo's just can't happen.
I was thinking I can throw a few cows in the mix and start a farm.
I am on the look out for a few cheopo ones.

I really loved these stools, so rustic! They were a bit stumpy though, don't ya think?

Kim is this the cow you have in your bathroom?
This handsome fella was in a bathroom too at the model home.

This was a pretty neat ottomon too.

I could have bought this pillow, and sorry I did not when I had the chance.

I really loved this idea.  I have seen mantels like this and if I had a place for one, I would so do this...
however, I don't!

A wood pallet for a headboard, totally cool!

Loved the frame and the vintage feel to this!

Loved everything about this table, lamp and cute vignette.

So would do you think about Cows and wood?
Is it just a new trend, or do you think we will see it around for a while, or has it been around and I just never noticed?
Thanks for stopping by.
Have a wonderful Saturday.
We are off to the Metrolina antique show.
The boys are going to be thrilled..NOT!

See you tomorrow night for the newbie party.

P.S. Thank you for all your sweet feedback on my last two posts.
My new score is definitely a typewriter table, and the roo background is staying for a bit longer.

Look at all those cute cows. My cow picture is different and by a local artist. I am glad to see they put it in the bathroom, too.

I said several years ago that if the economy didnt improve, we;d see a resurgance of COUNTRY.. and its here:) Not saying we'll goback to ruffled curtain, but strong country symbols , the sight of which makes one feel secure and steady.
sorry didnt mean to ramble:)
My personal fav farm animal sculpture/art/item is sheep. But I like cows too. They really give a home a FEELING and I think thats what we're all going for.
That pallet heaboard is genius and thrifty-- what a great idea.

I love the antique looking print in the frame.

Thanks for the tour!

We raised steer when we lived on our farm...so I am partial to cows.
Looks like "country" is making a come-back.
Have a great weekend Debbie!

I love the vintage cow look, along with rustic wood.

In my newspaper today in the home section, there was an article about the most recent furniture mart at High Point. The designers said they were seeing a lot of HORSES and the color RED....so let's see if in the next couple of months we don't see a lot of magazine shots with red and horses.

I love the table with the cow. The only cow I have is a cowhide rug.
It's a golden brown and the edges are white.

Remember all the cows in the 80s. They were some of the first country items. And geese of course remember those. I love the fact that country is in again in decorating. For me it has never left. Love your new header and your family in the picture is so very sweet.

You Know I LOVE rustic wood, the older the better!! Cows--I don't really find myself drawn to yet, though, lol! My mom has some cute little cow planters of my grandmother's I might have to check out though. I also love the mantle idea, but have nowhere to put one!

I've lived out West in New Mexico and in the mountains here in NC so the wood and animals looks very familiar to me! I think it's a trend that will last for years to come. I love that ottoman and I've had some of these items over the years...and gotten rid of them. You can't keep everything even if you want to! heehee! Enjoy your weekend! ♥

I love that mix. I'm noticing alot of rustic wood pallets being used in homes these days and really like it! Of course, those cows are adorable. I'm starting to see more of them the way I used to see roosters everywhere. I guess it's all part of the farmhouse look we like. Thanks for sharing these pics. I always enjoy looking at home tour pics.

I'm a cow fan from waaaaaaay back...probably from my Iowa upbringing!
If you like cows, look up Nancy Noel. She's an artist that paints great pictures of Amish and many include cows!
Maybe you should have a COW PARTY with all things COW!!!!
I'd be glad to party with you, if you do!!

I think you could mix some other animals with your roosters, perhaps in other rooms. I have one cow painting that I've had for several years that I still love. Would like to add a pig painting if I found just the right one! Loved that pallet headboard that you showed! And I think you should keep the rooster background for a while, too!

Well, cows used to be popular, especially when the old country look was popular. The rustic wood is great I think. Don't you just love looking at model homes or home shows to see what they're doing? I end up doing what I like though...regardless of the trends. :-)

Love your post and blog, Debbie.
You mentioned that you wish you'd have bought that cow pillow but..why not make your own out of linen or burlap? Probably easier to transfer a picture onto linen tho. There are tuts about picture transefers all over the internet just now..so maybe an Idea for you??

Not sure if it's a new trend or not. I've collected cows for years and used to decorate with a lot of rustic and primitive styled pieces. I still love my cows but had to stop the collection as it was taking over! LOL! I also had chickens and roosters, after inheriting my grandma's ceramic rooster. My decorating tastes have changed but I still love the look of many of these pieces. I have seen a lot of animal printed items recently, not just of the jungle variety. I love it and think it adds a little "zing" to my decor - a little unexpected pizazz and whimsy. Rustic wood is always good, in pristine white rooms and in farmhouse styled homes. Anyway, as I ramble away if you want t coupole of nice cows, I say go for it! Your decor is so lovely and they will be very happy to live there =:) Hugs, Leena

I am here to tell you, cows never went away. The market just had something else to push. Designers seem to follow the market, except for the really powerful designers.
Love the antique looking cow picture. It was really neat. I have some older pastoral pictures put away. May take a look at those, however, they don't seem to fit into my pastel color scheme. I need to think about that. Hugs to you, Ginger
