Diy Burlap framed art work {color trends for 2012}

I was pretty excited to share this DIY framed burlap art project.
I was also excited to see that my color scheme is the hot new {color trends for 2012}
You remember the burlap art I found at the antique mall.
HERE...
that was a huge hit and a big pin on pinterest, so I assumed you all like it.
Well I knew down the line this was something I could do myself if given the opportunity and finding the right frame.
I did not want another large piece, just something simple, yet makes a statement.

So I found this print at our local thrift store.  It was $2.50. I knew I was going to rip this apart and repaint the frame.

CeCe Caldwells sent me this little sample pot.  I love the color and thought I would try it out.
Hard for me to give a fair assessment of this paint, as it was such a small sample and small project.
As mentioned, I do love the color, and it was easy to work with. The clear wax darkens the color...which I liked as well.

I just started painting away.  I left the glass in for now.

Once the frame dried...which come to think of it, I did do all this procedure backwards, I should have taken the frame apart first.  Whatevs, it all worked out to be the same in the end.

I used the backing and wrapped it in burlap.
So how about the end result and where I put it.

You may recall my DIY burlap art from last year.  I did this in our guestroom.
I try to do most of my projects economically and fun!
If you are a guest in our home, You will be eating well, having fun, and for sure sleeping like a baby by the end of the day.

I think our guest room has an anthopolgie feel, without the anthropolgie price tags.
The bedding is from World Market, pillows from Target and the owl is from Kirklands.
the lamp: Bed bath and beyond, embellished with some burlap flowers..or should I say circles.

I have mentioned time and time again, how simple it is to stencil on fabric.  Of course I use stencils and not hand paint.
I used a little flower stencil as well and just layered some different colors on.
This room is PACKED full of color.  In fact, I have never seen a room more colorful than this.
You may love it or hate it, but for me it makes me smile, and seems to make my guests do the same.

The color theme in our guest room, just happen to be the new color trends for 2012.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you enjoyed your visit.  I also hope I inspired you to make some of you own cheap DIY art work.

I do not follow color trends, or even design trends for that matter.  I did find it interesting however, that our guest room color scheme is HOT this year.

I knew you would

Pretty - You did good! :) Your guest room looks a lot better than mine. As I clean out/declutter unfortunately that is where most of it goes until I can decide where it will go.
I don't do anthropologie prices either.
Enjoy your evening.

Debbie, This is just great. I love that color and I have a lot of the turquoise/teal in my home. I have always loved those colors. I am trying for just the right piece of red coral for my bedroom. That would definitally bring it into the 2012 color scheme.
Did a see some little red flowers in the background. I hope you liked them.
