This is just how strange my mind works.
Have you ever heard or seen anyone decorate with paint swatches?
Actually, I have!
In fact, I googled it before I titled my post, and after I did the project already.
Some cute projects came up. Mine is a different though, so I will call it a Debbiedoo's original.
The other day while shopping for plants at Home depot, which btw I did not buy any because I thought, I will kill these poor things before April, I best wait.
I happened to be walking by the paint section and I saw these cute paint chips, that were really funky and fun looking.
I started grabbing them, and of course the paint lady asked, is there anything I can help you with? I replied politely NO, just grabbing some samples for now, and Off I went. Now what was I going to do with these? had no clue.
I came home put them on the counter and then it popped into my head. These can make a really cute butterfly, or a flower depending on how you look at it.
So out came the glue gun, and a little embellished flower, and WHAAAA LAAA!
A one of a kind butterfly/flower...however you see it.
I love my new Roo pillow I scored a few weeks ago at Marshalls.
It had to come home with me. Ironically enough, all the paint chips matched the pillow. How weird is that? I did not even have that in mind. I guess I know what colors I like.
I used my galvanized tin for my faux lemon branches. Tied some rope around it, just because.
Now tell me that does not look cute? Even Mr. Doo's liked it.
So go ahead and pick up some paint swatches..You never do know what you can create with them!
These just look so happy!
Enjoy your Saturday everyone!

I have quite a stack of paint chips that I stashed in my paper scraps... I'll have to get them out and have some fun with them.Great ideas Debbie!
Hugs, sherry
Just darling Debbie:) Such a great idea. I was going to ask about your lemon tree, I would never have guessed it was a faux.
Deb, those are so cute and I love your new pillow. Perfect colors.
Cute, cute, cute. Love the colors and you are so clever. Your new pillow is fabulous. I really like the tin with the faux lemon branches too, super display. Hugs, Marty
Seriously, every paint department is going to think there is a ground swell for women painting in the coming week as we all gobble up swatches. I think they look like pin wheels. I'm making some and these will rival coke can vases for sure!

Debbie, those are too cute! As a paper artist this is right up my alley. I have tons of paint swatches! Can't resist. Better than paper because there are so many graduated tones! Very nice project! I think I'll make a paint swatch project for your party!
Debbie those are super super cute! They would even look great in a girls room using some bright funky colors. LOVE your new pillow and the colors go perfect together! Have a great weekend.
Debbie you come up with the neatest things.
Your ROO PILLOW is my favourite.
Thanks for sharing.
Very cute Debbie! I love your roo pillow and your centerpiece!
I have literally hundreds of paint chips sitting in my office, but have never considered using them. There you go again, getting my creative juices running. Thanks for the inspiration!
You are simply amazing! I've seen a lot of paint chip projects on Pinterest and I may have even pinned a few but yours take first prize!
Love your pillow....it is too cute and it really looks vintage and those lemons look REAL! So many ideas...so little time! Have a great day/weekend!
Debbie Dear, you are amazing! This is so cute! You're little mind is going 90 miles an hour all of the time. Those paint chips are wonderful! ;)
Love your pail with the lemon branches too. Oh, my Lord! I want that Roo pillow - it's darling! It looks like a grandma heirloom.
Be a sweetie
Shelia ;)
OMGoodenss Debbie, that are too cute! You out did yourself on this project and I love your new roo pillow. Enjoy your weekend and I'll see on Monday, Gail
That is just too darn cute! I love the lemon branches with the paint chip flowers in the metal tin.
So- THAT'S where all the paint samples went! lol What a cute idea and now every store in town will be minus all their paint chips and the people that really want to paint will be forced to guess at what color they want!;>)
Love your new Roo pillow, too. I do think it is amazing how we kind of "know" our colors and can pick it out of a host of similar shades. One of my friends asked me if I wanted the watered silk curtains that were in the "girl's room" of the new house that she had bought- she had only boys. I said..those will match the Ralph Lauren comforters that I bought for the girl's room perfectly. (it is a peachy pinkish color...more pink than peach and not a usual color) She asked me how did I know that...I said I just knew. They were SPOT ON!
Good eye, girlie. I think you either have the eye for color or you don't. You got it, sistah! xo Diana
How creative.I love it.
How cute, Debbie, I do believe you are original! Thanks for the reminder on your CC challenge coming up, too.
How fun that they were already that shape, Debbie! They remind me of pinwheels! Cute pillow and how funny that you were drawn to the same colors.
What a fun idea. Looks great! I love the rooster pillow too.
Very cute Debbie! I always love to pick up paint chips...the colors are so fun and now I can try these cute flowers! hugs, Linda

Girl, you never cease to amaze and DELIGHT me with your creativity!!!! I would love to live inside your head for a day or 2:):) Love the flowers and the pillow is beautig=ful. The lemon branches in the bucket are TDF!!!! XO, Pinky

These are sooo cute...
I'm tellin' you, girl.....you just
blow my skirt up with all your cuteness.
You find the most wonderful goodies to share with all of us. I love the pillow. I am having a wonderful giveaway for a Miche bag at http://lazydaisycrochet.blogspot.com/2012/03/miche-bag-review-and-giveaway.html Please come enter.
I have seen those shaped paint chips...and you know, you could put them with a clipy thingy and they could be like those wind thingys outside. OK, I am laughing, but I can't think of the name...but I am sure you know!!
Hi Debbie,
Your flowers are so clever and cute! I love the tin vase and lemon branches. Adorable pillow too!
Dee
they do look cute, and they are free too aren't they,, double cute!
My daughter used the Mickey Mouse head paint swatches from Home Depot to decorate party treat bags for her son's Mickey Mouse themed party. She attached the swatches to the bags and wrote the child's name on it that the treat bag was made for.
Debbie, this is so pretty! I love it! Not long ago I saw some wall art also made with paint swatches. The lady had put them in frames and aligned them from darker to lighter. They were gorgeous! Yours are so beautiful and original! What a great centerpiece! And your new pillow is amazing! I love the warm colors on it! So pretty! Now, tell me, how do you take such gorgeous pictures on front of a window? I have had a heck of a time lately doing that! :)
This looks like such a fun project, Debbie! I love them on your lemon tree! It looks so pretty with the woods outside your window!
The pillow from Marshall's is fabulous. I definitely would have snapped that up...love the embroidery!
XO,
Jane

Great idea! Your flowers are so cute. I'll have to look for those paint chips when I go to Lowes.
So clever! I've seen those and thought of snagging some -- not sure what I'd do with them but now I know! Don't you just love the paint chips they have out now with all of the shapes and textures? I have drawers full that I use for all kinds of things!
You are just about the most creative person I've even known. Sooooo cute!
It's always fun to pop in and visit you, Deb! Your idea is as cute as ever!

Oh how stinkin' cute! When I was an avid scrapbooker, we all started using paint swatches on our pages. Who would have thought they could be used in other ways too!
I've seen those cute little swatches at Home Depot and thought they look like pinwheels. Your flower/butterfly idea is so cute! I need to go dig out my swatches now. :)
Such a neat idea! I love those flowers and surely the frost won't get those. Love the pillow. Hugs, Ginger
