Tea cup candles {Newbie party started}

I have a very lovely collection of  vintage tea cups that have been passed down to me from family, both an Aunt and my FIL.
There is no shortage of china in my house.
I saw these lovely tea cup candles on a wedding site, and they say they were from
Anthropolgie.

Teacup Candle Favors : wedding candles diy favors Teacup teacup.jpg
                                                                        {Anthropologie}

Very pricely I may add.  about $23.00 a tea cup.  Ummmm....I don't think so.

How about Free for me!
I brought out a few of my favorite, and I decided I would make my own pretty vignette.

These music note roses I bought for $5.00 on a recent trip to the antique mall.  They are so pretty!

I just added a tea light to the tea cups!

They look so pretty on our dresser.

Like I mentioned I have a beautiful collection.  I am sure my FIL is happy that I love these and use them, perhaps not in a traditional way, but none the less I get to enjoy them.

You may also make your own tea cup candles and here is a tutorial from
Enjoy the newbie party!
Let's get it started!

    MY GUIDELINES
*Blogging 6 months or less and or less than 100 followers.
*Would love for you to become a new friend of mine as well on google friend connect.
*PLEASE turn off Word verification, makes commenting very difficult, and you do not need it. NOW there, are two words, I mean seriously, a time killer here.
Blogger does a great job of deterring spam comments.
*PLEASE visit a few other participants, that is what you are here for!
*IF you find your link deleted, it is simply because you did not follow my simple guidelines.
*PLEASE add my link or button to your blog and/or post. I will just delete your post otherwise.

Please limit your links to two per newbie party.
thank you.
I would also like to mention, that we all should be watermarking our photo's.  Which basically means, add your name or blog name to each photo.  With pinterest on the rise in popularity, I see many pins out there with no name.
Do realize any party you link up to, gives people free reign to pin away, which is great, however, no name on the photo, no credit.  I always source out my features and I try only to feature ones with your names on them, that is for your benefit. Even though the pin may lead back to my original post, people would clearly see it was your work, with a link back to YOUR blog.

And don't forget about the Spring'tacular party coming up soon..MARCH 12th
THE copy cat party will be in lieu of the newbie party that day.

Thanks for hosting the party!

Love the tea cup candles--I use them too in my house but I fill my tea cups with water and put in floating candles.

Have a great week,

Debbie, this is so romantic & soft sweet setting with your teacups. I think I'll do this with all of mine! TY for the inspiration.

I hope you will pop by to help us bring 'angel love' for a young girl who is sick.

Thank you.
Have a beautiful week ~

Such a cute idea, Debbie. It is on the same line of the candles my daughter-in-law made for me using single crystal wine glasses of assorted sizes. LOVE the idea using tea cups. I have several odd ones, too! xo Diana

the tea cups look lovely and i love thetea lights in them.I made tea cup candles a few years back but regretted it.I filled them with bees wax and a wick but the bees wax was not right, it should have been a white or pink wax, plus they were nasty to clean.
yiours are lovely.

Perfect with the tea lights. I couldn't imagine putting wax directly into the teacups I have.

These are so pretty! Your teacups are just beautiful and while I have made candles with cups before, I wouldn't want to do it with my collection cups so the tea lights are great! I also use the battery-operated lights if I'm using vintage cups that are a little more valuable.

So pretty and feminine, Deb. Beautiful! Our women's group hosted a Tea at church. We spent a couple of months thrifting to find all the tea cups, which we sent home with our guests as favors. Women love to go to Teas - I'm sure it's in our DNA. The idea of a tea candle is a great way to use the cups since I don't drink hot tea.
