Entertainment center makeover final reveal!
I do not have to paint every piece of wood we own.
Mike found the old 1800's sash pulls at an antique shop. He knew they would compliment the gallery wall and tie in with our old vintage decor.
and the medallions, that were a plain wood color I painted black. I purchased those at Lowes for $6.97 for a twin pack.
Mike and I both decided that adding a touch of black would tie in nicely with the coffee table and some other small pieces we had. I also changed up the top decor and added some old books, seltzer bottle and an Old German beer crate.
This tin urn I have had for many many years along with the faux silk flowers. I bought both at Z-gallerie at least 10 years ago.
On both sides of the unit Mike had these speaker covers that were black, however he only use to have it on one side. I asked him to put the other side insert in, and that would balance it.
I also added the black appliques as you can see..just for a decorative touch.
We think just those small changes made an updated difference.
Now you see how this wall makes a little more sense as well, next to the unit.
This pic was taken early in the morning when the sun was just coming up.
I was playing on the Sherwin Williams website and these are the color schemes they came up with for our room
I would say I have all bases covered now.
Have a wonderful day!
And thank you for popping over and your very sweet comments.
XO

Love the small changes for a big impact!
Okay I have to admit I was looking forward to the color change... But understand the Design choice that needed to be made... :) LOVE all the added touches you came up with... :)
Bravo! Love the update.
I love how it looks. I also like that throw on the back of your couch. (I was really scoping out your room.)
I agree .. you made the perfect changes and a wonderful piece looks even better than before.. you did GOOD~!
I love how it turned out! Your subtle changes were really all you needed. Thanks so much for the shout-out. Glad that I was able to give you advice you could use. I actually did do a painted furniture project of my own and plan to share it tomorrow. Ha! It's neutral though and ties in with the rest of the house (so I'm using my own advice). I really like that sign above your entertainment center too, btw.
I love how little changes can make such a big impact. Looks really great.
The black band at the top made the biggest difference. Great changes.
Simple changes that have made a big impact...it looks great!

It looks great! We are redoing our entertainment center, can't wait until it is finished.
Subtle but important changes. Love the vintage pulls.
The black band brings great balance to this piece. I like the tweeks. Not everything in my home is painted either.
Proof positive that sometimes less is more! Looks great! Happy Valentine's Day!
Nicely, Nicely done!!!
I too, thought I would see a new paint color... but it is FAB!! We don't always have to paint do we? : )
Love the throw on the couch...just the right pop.
BUT I just can not get over how big that room looks with such high ceilings... totally jealous of that.
(& Mike has a great eye for detail : )
Looks great Debbie!
The black accents look really great Debbie! The little touches adds a lot of style!
It looks really nice, Debbie. I love the feet on it and the appliques just give it a bit of punch. Looks good to me! xo Diana

I'm so happy you decided not to paint your center. My husband is a wood artisan and hate it when people cover up beautiful wood. Your changes are fantastic. You have exquisite taste.
I love black so I really understand you going the way you did, it looks wonderful and so rich looking too!
Debbie..I always think touches of black really make a room! Love the pulls too. It all looks fabulous and balanced. I like the color choices too.
You did a great job, Debbie. The entertainment center really is stunning!
XO,
Jane
I think the small touches you did are perfect! The piece looks like it was made for the room now! I take so long on projects, because I often change my mind along the way, subtracting or adding to the original plan. I think your project looks just right!
I like it.
The small details made a big impact. It looks warm and inviting.
That is amazing how the smallest details can really make a piece unique! So cool!
WOW Debbie, it looks great! I love all the deep rich colors you have in your family room. Enjoy your day, Gail

It's lovely, Debbie! I could use your fresh eyes and decorating talent at my house. I have all kinds of cool vintage and antique stuff, but I don't take the time to shop my house or attic to switch thing up.
I just found that Sherwin Williams site yesterday and am addicted. I love your black additions to the cabinet and the medallions really make the piece. They are so you!
Great touches for a fabulous makeover...just the right touches made such a big difference...Love all that you did!
I love it. We have a very similar unit in our family room!

It turned out just perfect! Isn't it fun to make little changes and then have something completely different? Love it.
I like the way it turned out it looks great. Sometimes the littlest change does make a big difference.
I loe how those little changes made such a difference. Love the black banding at the top and the addition of the additional speaker cover. I thought the right door looked different then I read that he had changed it out.Looks great. So glad the rooster made the cut. I was looking to make sure he was there.
I noticed the time you posted and that then explained the early morning picture. I wasn't up for three more hours. Hugs, Ginger
Great job. Just like the pros. It's perfect.
I love this redo. I think my favourite times of primping the house are when I spend almost nothing.
Thank Mike for balancing the entertainment center. It doesn't scream POINT THE REMOTE HERE now.

It looks great! Love the morning shot, it's all beautiful!

Guess you really don't need another comment telling you pretty it all is, but it REALLY IS stunning how just a few changes can update the entire look. How pleased you must be with the finished look. Enjoy! Thanks for giving us a "look-see"!
