Not your typical Christmas present! {vintage, rustic home decor} NEWBIE party started!

Decorating with vintage, rustic, antique decor
This my friends is not your typical Christmas present one would expect from their husbands.
Some girls love diamonds, some love perfume! Me, yes, I love those things too, however, give  me something old, something different, more of a conversation piece, and that  is really the perfect gift for me.
Of course anything rooster works too, just in case your wondering.
You know I love things of sentiment as well.

Family treasures are the best gifts of all, from the heart, with meaning and a real history and story to be told.
I will be sharing soon a very lovely gift my father- in- law gave me as well, that I love, however, I have to be dressed purty to show you that one.
This brings me to Mike's  very unique gift to me.

Very old, very rustic, and indeed very unique.
The funny thing about this, is that I saw this piece when I was out antiquing with my blogging friends, Cindy and Carrie

I stopped dead in my tracks, said "WOW this is cool", but I have no place at all to put it and Mike would kill me if I come home with it.

It wasn't that cheap let's  just say that...it wasn't that expensive either, but it was not the typical good will price, and score I would normally make.
I am frugal like that.
All I can say is, Mike and I are so on the same page sometimes it is scary!
However, it is a good thing, we both like strange and unique stuff.

I am sure you are thinking, why on earth do you like this old, typo's all over, church bulletin?

I don't know, I just do!

But no worries, my husband did add in a little bling too...

In fact this too is made from old keys and bolts...

Pretty cool necklace!

Oh and if you are wondering where we found a place to hang the new bulletin...

We found the perfect spot!

Merry Christmas to all!

Let's get this Newbie party started.
Next week I will put up the link, and if you can make it, great if, not, no biggie, see you next week.
I just want you to know the option will be available to join in.

I love old, strange, funky unique items as well Debbie. This is an awesome piece. Hubby did well. I remember going through a garage at an estate sale, and having one "gentlemen" tell me that the "girl" stuff was inside. If looks could kill, he would have been very dead. lol

Hi Debbie Dear! Oh, what a treasure! When I was a little girl our church had a board like this and it changed each Sunday! The Sunday School attendance was there, the Offering was listed and the church membership! How neat! It looks like it found the right spot too! :)

Debbie, you and Mike are on mine and Joe's same page as we have an old solid wood church podium. I love this church board. It is unique and fabulous. Vintage is so the way to go and sometimes you simply must pay a little more and that makes up for all the money saved elsewhere. Olive
